They wont be waterproof. water can get in the engine bay and just drip off the engine.
Ferrari 360 Modenas, F430 and the enzo has vents on the sides of the glass engine cover. There engine bays dont get to dirty! :p

I have another question...is it possible to make it so you can put a plastic filler in the vent as a temporary for those that dont want water in the engine bay...I believe one of the M3 CF hoods has this option and it would be great for those of us that are on the fence...I mean I know the water wont dirty the engine bay that much but it would be a nice addition im sure some people wouldnt mind getting...just throwin it out there...

To be honest, i do not think we are going to bother with a part like that.

also... regarding the CF hood, i would be interested. will there be any weight issues, and also did we finally decide on whether is was vented only? i think i would be more interested in the non-vented. One last thing... does anyone have a pic or a location of a pic, where i can see what i might look like on a black car. Thanks

I will have exact price on tuesday. I will also then know if we are only doing vented or not.
Here is a pic of the brabus vented hoods on a black car only the hood is not CF.
