Need help with this AMG disc!!!

I just got the attached AMG gear lever top-disc, for lack of a better word, however, I am unable to figure out how to remove the old top-disc as shown in the other attached picture with a red arrow pointing to it.

Can anyone please help?!?

I'll make you all a deal...

It wasn't easy to get but it's original...from AMG in Germany...now here's a challenge to you all....someone tell me how to remove the other one so I can fix this one properly and I'll give you the AMG part number!!

I don't think its a stick on otherwise it would protrude too much on top especially since its about 1cm thick!

Another teaser pic with flash.

I wish I could help but I have no idea how to do this. I'm sure all you have to do is call your dealership or stop by and they will help you out.

Now tell us how to get that insert!!

Actually I already tried that....

but they've never removed one before and tried a quick search on their systems with no luck. They are still checking. In the meantime I'm trying all avenues for a quick response especially if they fail to find something. I don't have an extra gear lever to break with trial and error.

I left the part number at work but I'll get it and post it first thing tomorrow morning!!

I just played around for about an hour with no luck. I thought if you removed the knob from the shifter that you would be able to push it out from underneath. looks like you can but [I] couldn't get it to budge. please post a pic of the bottom of the badge so I can see what we are dealing with

I bet if you gave us the part number and we were all trying to put it on someone would figure it out faster.

Here it is!

Attached is a pic of the bottom of the AMG disc. It came with that marking, don't know why. Here is its part number!!!!! May the orders begin and hopefully someone will figure out how to install it soon.

New development!!!

The info I've just received is that the AMG disc is supposed to be sold together (read already fitted) in a AMG gear shift lever. I believe the part number for the gear shift lever (anthracite) is A209 267 2710. So you would have to order this and tell them that it should be fitted with that AMG disc (part# A171 267 0134). Otherwise they might not sell the AMG disc alone as the standard disc in the gear lever needs to be pried out and there is a chance of damage when attempting this maneuver.

Please remember to confirm which AMG gear shift lever is correct for your car before ordering and ask that that AMG disc be inserted.

That's all for now. As for me, I will have to flirt with the danger of damaging the gearshift lever!
