I bought my C32 about a month ago and tonight, for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, it just would not start. Both times, I drove for 20-25 minutes with the AC on, turned off the engine for no more than 1 minute, tried to start the car and nothing happened. I took it to MB after the first time and they said they couldnt recreate the problem and the computer didnt register a problem.
Both times I tried the 2nd key and still got nothing. The lights and radio continued to work, but not even a clicking sound when I turned it over. Also, both times it started back up again after 30-40 minutes of cool down time.
Any ideas on what might be causing this?

A month back, one morning , I was not able to start MY C55. The car had to be towed away. That was in the last 11 months not one sign of any abnormalities in starting the car. The scenario at the time of the problem, was every eletrical is working incl. radio, all lights ..etc. When I turned the ignition key , I heard some sort of hydrolic sound but the car would not start.
The dealer replaced the 'starter'.

I don't think its the battery as MB checked it out and said it was holding a good charge. MB, and I, are stumped. Its very frustrating.

This is a shade tree mechanic recommendation - but if you have any kind of access to the starter, next time it happens, trying tapping the body and solenoid with something wooden. Like a hammer handle - nothing damaging!!!. Don't strike it with the hammer end!! Just try and rap it a couple of times and then try and start the car.
What you've described is most likely a failed starter, which actually is reasonably priced, but you may be under warranty.

Thanks KJB55. I have an appt with MB tomorrow so i will bring this up with them and let you know what they say.
MB says they did a thorough check (they had the car for 2 days) and couldn't duplicate the problem. They checked the started, battery, etc, but could not find a problem. This concerns me very much. Nothing worse than taking the car out for a spin and getting stranded!
