Handling Improvements with lowering springs or coilovers and wheels

Has anyone tested [with a device like g-tech] the improvement in handling of their C32 or C55 with larger diameter wheels and wider tires combined with lowering springs or coilovers? I'm looking to see how much of an improvement in the lateral g's I can expect from our cars.

It all depends on the specific upgrade installed. The difference is significant in number and feel. I don't have any testing equipment but I will assume a conservative .95+ with my mods.

I don't have any numbers to provide but I can tell you that with the Bilstien PSS9's and 265 9.5's in the rear the car definitely "huges" the road and I feel totally comfortable in it.

Hey DragonAMG, I've heard that once the Bilstein PSS9s go in that you can say good bye to comfort. Since they are adjustable, am I correct to assume that you can set it to pretty comfortable settings for around town or very stiff when u want?

SMG32 - thx for the comment. Do you notice a difference in the steering feel (or lack of) with the mods you've made? The lack of feedback from the steering wheel is one of my very few complaints about the C32.

I rode in my friend's C32 with Carlsson RS sport suspension (a variation of the Bilstein). We drove on pretty flat roads with little to no pot holes. The ride is not too rough (2nd softest setting front, softest rear) but I bet it would suck going over potholes.

Hmmm.. I was going to have the PSS9's installed next spring because I'm not a fan of the stock suspension. I just don't have the same comfort level pushing this car in corners as I did with my Eibach/Koni setup in my last car. I also plan on some light Auto X'ng. What setting are most people using? Would KW's be a better choice.

Thanks

Go for PSS9. It is a major improvement over OEM. I run 7 in the front and 8 in the rear. If you want comfort, get an S class.

The PSS-9's are significantly less comfortable than the stock suspension on any setting. And all aftermarket springs improve handling and improve comfort over the stock suspension. Comfort does not mean less handling capability. Think about the RENNtech springs as these seem to be the preferred choice of C32 owners.

I got the H&R coils and I love them! I also have 9.5" in the rear with 265 and I am now upgrading (trying to to 275 in the rear - i'll keep you posted next week)

I have a g-tech rr but I don't think it's that relaible...I'm actually thinking of returing it!

BennyZ

Josh, how comfortable are you with that much throtle on turns? BennyZ

Not at all comfortable at more than 1/2 throttle. If I floored it completely ever while turning, I would end up hitting a curb or running into a wall. LOL
