Bone stock E55 or putting $40k into a car and knowing that you probably won't see another one on the road ... exclusivity counts for something. I see a couple of AMG cars a week. I have yet to see a Kleeman Mercedes.

I think 90% of the guys on this board do things to personalize our cars and some care about the cash that they put in and others are lucky enough that they don't have to. Good kill story and I'm sure we all embellish a bit when we tell our kill stories.

I'm glad to see somebody else pickup on that. And, to add to that very same point.... when I took my car to the MB dealer they (service managers and techs) swarmed it like it was a rare exotic. Do you think an SL65 or E55 gets that kind of attention? Um.... don't think so.

Anyways - I really didn't want this to become a heated debate about 1/4 times, cars, etc. I just wanted to share a pretty cool race experience. In the future, I'll keep my kills to myself.

Precisely, your car is an expression of you. Nowadays it is a proverbial "Armani suit".

In the future, I'll keep my kills to myself.
Do post them, just think of the haters as another form of attention. The bigger the hate the more jealous they are.

Please keep on posting these stories. People why would some one who has been on this board as long as Dragon lie about his stories? I mean it's totally pointless to this stuff up. Forget about CynCarvyn32, i dun think i've ever seen that guy not hate on anything. I was thirlled once that c240 vs 230 thread got closed down... please don't start the same crap here...

Exactly. I love to hear kill stories. Plus it's nice to show "kill" posts to all the MB haters out there.

Please tell us another story. Somebody has to have the nicest C55 out there (or at least the crowd's favorite), don't let anybody hate.

Cool... thanks guys. I guess there is always a bad apple in the bunch and in the future I will not even dignify them with a reply.

Josh,

Look at this mess!
I was only questioning your 70-140 times...

If you can do it in 3 seconds - my hat is off to you

Not talking about you Benny... I know you respect my setup and I definitely respect yours.

When I said 3 seconds, I figured everyone would understand I was using that to metaphorically to express its top end acceleration. It's not like I timed it. LOL. Although it sure does feel that fast.

It sure does feel like that. The other day I punched my car and I was like:
"damn that was fast...scary fast...like a blur"

Much respect back at you!

Nice kill Dragon. Don't listen to these haters. My car had >500 miles on it and I beat a 2006 C6. It usually comes down to the driver.

I think one of the problems with your original post was the 70-140 time of 3 seconds

If you run 12.29@117, you are running around 8.0@89 or so in the 1/8, right? So to go from 89-117 (18mph), it takes you a little over 4 seconds. So stretch that out from 70-140 and you've got to cover 70mph in your 3 second guesstimate

Still a fun kill, just ease up on the dreaming when you post

Can everyone please stop taking every single number soo seriously? Dragon just told you a post ago that this isn't timed. This was just a guess he made. There was no timeslip, there wasn't even a timer involved! So please stop caring so much about the damn numbers. The point of his story is that the car is f'in fast and I think that's pretty true...

I let he floor it before flooring it myself, just to ensure that he doesn't think I jumped on him. The minute I floor it, I instantly pull past him... by 140 mph (~3 seconds later) I have him by at least 12-15 cars. We get to the next light (this freeway is basically a series of 1-2 mile off ramps) and I roll down my window and say, "do you want to go again". To which he replies (dude in his mid 50's), "umm no, I just got the car and I'm still learning it and I really wasn't pushing it there". LOL!!! He couldn't have just complimented me and said nice setup or something.... had to act like he wasn't trying... funny... you don't floor it and get up to 140 (him maybe 120) and not try... what a dumbass. Anyways... it was pretty fun to rock a new c6.
So?
Your sig says you are pushing like 550hp and tq, of course you should have beaten him. c6 has 400hp/tq.
This is not really that much of an accomplishment.

We all know it's not much of an accomplishment... just cool because corvette owners think they're the fastest on the road, especially the new C6's. Also, my car is about 700 heavier than the new c6.

I thought it was a good kill. C6s aren't slow and you never know what anyone is packing in a street encounter.

As far as weight, I think a C6 is around 3300lbs. Is a C55 the same weight as an E55?

I believe the C55 is 3605 + 80lbs supercharger putting me at ~ 3700 so I guess I'm only 400 lbs heavier than a C6

That sounds about right. I'm sure that on the street, from a dig, you'd have a good chance of beating a C6 Z06 since they are more difficult to drive.
