Hood Louvers
I got it finnally done !!! It was in the shop during 2 Hurricanes. man I thought It was a goner. But it made it back out . The hood needed some paint chips removed . I had wanted a C/F hood with the Louvers. But the group buy fell through. I know Neil tried. Well anyway I showed the shop what the C/F hood looked like with the Louvers. They said they could come close. Take Care PTE

Nice! And it won't chop your head off in a collision like the CF hood!! Hah!
Any moisture problems? How long did it take, and how much did it cost?

2003 C-Class Sportcoupe
Looks very nice with louvers. I'm having a black CF one made for my c-coupe. I'm always looking at examples for louvers on production cars. I like the Diablo SRT-6 hood louvers. I wish I could get a silver hexel tex fiberglass hood, but can't get large enough rolls. Shop says they need at least 60" roll to make the hood completely with one sheet. Hexel tex came in 50" roll...

I've only seen louvers once. I got a pic with my cell but the quality is crap.
Anyway, it looks even more awsome in reality than on image.
Nice mod!

Hood louvers
Hi Folks:
No rain or moisture problems . I looked at this before I had the hood modified. All the exposed electrical connectors are of a weather pak style ?packard type. They have silicone ribbed connection seals & where the wires enter the back side , there is a silicone type .Quad or round ,with a hole sized for the wire going thru it. The Air cleaner Housing & the front panel that attaches to it , protects the top of the motor , ign coil modules and the poly vee / serpentine belt .
It took about 2 weeks , $365.00 for the paint & $700.00 to build the Louvers . They popped a mold off a Porsche engine Hood ? cover. Then use the screen from a office depot in/out , desk top mail /letter rack. I cut the opening in the heat / sound blanket . It is a 3 layers thick. The 2 outside are black fiber . The center is a open cell type of foam . I took it to a canvas shop to have a linen binding sewed around the open edges to seal them off from the rain. I figured that if it got wet , it would weigh a TON and droupe down. LOOK AWLFULL. Hope this helps . P/S I really traded the body shop Guy's ,my dads old Evinrude 9.9 hp outboard for the Job. He hasn't missed it either
