05 c55 used value?

So I checked on kbb and realized that they didn't have any used car values for this car. It's an 05 that was purchased in april with less than 2K miles on it. It has lighting package and it does have navigation which I could care less about. If memory serves me correct, I can still buy the starmark warranty for it and make it 7 years 100K. The owner bought it for his wife and she doesn't like it. He seemed pretty reasonable and since he is just going to end up trading it in at a dealer he said he was open to an offer. I was thinking about offerring him 45K. Too high/low? Input/suggestions?
Thanks for your help guys.

For a 2,000 mile car that retails at over 60 once tax, tags, title go into it, I wouldn't go lower than 50k as a seller.

For a friend, maybe 48 or 49 depending on how much I liked them.

How much will the dealer give him on the tradein? He made it clear that as long as I offered him something higher than what the dealer would give on tradein then he would be kosher.

About 2000 miles?? 45K is too low.... Private value for Mileage btw 2000~6000 is 49.9K and Trade in is 47.8K But If he let it go for 45K, just get the car Now... good luck!!

True, if its my friend or someone close, i would let it go for 49K, but if i'm selling that car to others, I would want at least 52K.....

I think he knows that the market for these cars is limited and that it's a PITA to sit around and try to sell it private party. He knows that he will end up trading it in..... so why not get more for it than he would at dealer by selling to me. I plan on keeping the car for 6 years . I would be stupid especially to pick up a car like this in central florida and try to sell it a while later without losing money. Where did you get the trade in and retail values?

$45K is low-balling if you ask me. But good luck. There was some discussion in another thread about a reasonable offer for C55s. STFF and your queries may be answered.

I would offer him "47.500K" Express that you will have to get an extended warranty. The dealer is probably offering him low 40's. But he will get some tax credit if he buys anopther car from them. There was an 05 with less than 5K miles fully loaded with the Star -Mark warranty going for 48K a couple of weeks ago. The dealer will low ball him and then sell the car for 4K or more than what they paid for it. Meet the seller somewhere in the middle.

If you have time, which I am sure that you do. Go to a dealership and look like you are going to purchase a E55 or higher priced model. Then ask them what would they give you for your trade, using the specs of the car that you are considering purchasing. This should give you a better gauge of what the dealer is offering the other person. Good luck

yah... i saw this earlier this evening while I was waiting at the wheel repair shop. I logged on now when I got home to post about it..... guess you beat me. This one is 49K for a 500 mile 05 c55 with starmark. Ummm....... 44-45K is looking like a mighty fair deal for the gentleman with the car I was looking at. I was going to call the dealer up manana and find out if there is a catch with this black c55...... doubt it though.
Thanks for the info guys
