i was planning on getting them, i decided against them b/c of tire wear..... i got about 6500-7000 mi out of my ps2's.
i used to have a e36 m3 w/ yoko a032r's, r compound tires are the ****.
that's not what I hear - I was debating between the Corsa and the Dunlops - finally went with the pilot sport -
I plan on keep the car in the family for along time...eventually I will try all of them

At half price of most performance tires and with a lot more traction - I love them.
O.K. you got me. How do you rotate a staggered set of tires. Also how do you get 25k-35k miles on a set of these when a performance street tire only lasts 12k with a 240-260 treadwear rating. Granted the Dunlop Super Race is not quite an R compound tire, but it must have a treadwear rating lower than 200.

When an R compound tire comes with 6mm of tread depth new and 3mm or less is technically illegal on the street, how do they last 35k miles?

I rotate them left to right every 5K miles to keep edges from wearing out. Last set went 30K with rotations and keeping tire pressures at 38 psi all around. Plus now-a-days I am stuck in traffic most of the time.

If you run the Cups at a road course, you will only get one day out of them. With our camber challenged car, especially on this tire, you will cord the outside edge.

I too, run the SPSSR's on the street as well as the track. At a road course, I get 5 hours on the fronts before they cord, and 12 hours on the rears before they are smooth beyond the wear indicator bars. Another benefit of our differential challenged cars. SCCA should just open up another class for the handicapped cars!

Several of us have experienced extreme "wandering" at high speed in the rain with the SPSSR's mounted. The Corsa's are no better. It is scarry traveling over 65 mph in the rain on the freeway with a R compound tire. This comes from first hand experience traveling to a track event in the rain. All three of us had an opportunity to drive to and from the track in the C32, and we all agreed that it was very difficult to keep the car between the lane lines. We mostly floated! If your driving is around town at normal speeds, than the R compound tire, although a compromise, can be OK, but drive it at your own risk. If ESP was not available, R compounds in the rain would be disasterous. Even with street tires, ESP off in the rain is not advisable.

We have found the Corsa's to be superior on the street over the SPSSR's, in terms of grip and sound level, but have not yet tested them at the track. Last event, we were going to compare them, but the intercooler pump broke again, for the 4th time!!
