Dunlop M3

Get the Dunlop M3, I have tried the Nokian RSI and Pirelli 210, all are sub standard compared to the Dunlop M3, the issue is the "jelly mould" effect of the Nokian RSI and the Pirelli are just ordinary.......The Dunlop will allow you to maintain snow grip and still drive at 160+ Kmh (when weather allows, obviously no snow or ice!), very good comprimise.

there was another thread not to long ago about the same topic.
Conclusion = purchase DUNLOP WINTER SPORT M3 tires. good luck finding them though i got them from tirerack in early november and theyve sold out on there site!

Some people and the tag on the inner driver door says keep them non-staggered (for winter use), but i rather have 10mm more tread width in the rear for $15/tire, wouldnt you?

For snow driving, you want to maintain less contact surface.'

But I'm also running staggered snow tires.

I heard Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 are really good. Anyone run these on their car?

Blizzak are meant to be noisy and have the jelly mould effect due to the soft side wall, read the tirerack winter tire review to get a better idea.........

I fine the blizzaks to be fine. Not any noiser than the stock pirelli performance tires. And in the snow and ice, very good.

I think i did a whole thread on this a little while ago, but here's the dealio with snows.

I've run the blizzak LM-22s and they were fantastic- i ran them on 17 inch wheels and they were not noisey at all- in fact i think they were about the same as my goodyear F1s. they were unbelievable in the snow and actually quite grippy in the dry. the only problem with the LM-22s is their speed rating of i believe something like H???? either way the LM-25s are V rated, which is pretty important in an AMG car- when it's dry you can do 130 and not worry about your tires.

Now this year, i decided on the Dunlop M3s because they rated just as high as the blizzaks (actually higher on tirerack), and they were significantly cheaper. so far they been great, althought i hate how my car looks with the stock 17s on! they're quite quiet, and i'm a real freak about noise, and they pretty grippy on the dry. And, i think they're the best looking snow out there.

I went staggered too, even though it's supposed to be better to have less rubber on the snow. I want to get around in the snow, but i still need my C32 to look bad ***!

when you buy them, do this... go on tirerack, price out the tires you want for you car. print that quote out and go to your local firestone dealer, or competitor, and tell them, either they match that price or you'll go somewhere else. they'll match and you'll get tirerack's price.

I put my snows on the OEM C32 wheels and they look ok. nothing like my 18s, but it's only three months i've got to deal with them. email me if you have any quesstions, i researched this topic pretty heavily.

I have used Blizzak LM-22's on a CLK 430 for 2 winters and found them to be quite good in snow and ice. They are not to loud and I hate tire noise.

I am running the same size front and rear on a set of C32 17 inch AMG wheels.

you won't be disappointed, they're great tires, just a little pricier than the M3s. make sure you leave you traction control on!

I had them on for a week and driven through a storm last Friday. They are as good as any other quality winter tires. Great traction in snow and I had confidence crusing in higher speed in flurries on I-90W

I did the Yokohama IceGuards and they've been excellent. EXCELLENT lateral grip and VERY GOOD stopping and accelerating. I've had some time with them now that we've gotten more snow and I'm very pleased with them.

It was one heck of a storm. got stuck 3 times with my A/S pirellis. Just ordered the rear dunlop M3 this weekend from tirerack. That’s all they have left. i'll either get blizaks for the front from a local store or I’ll wait till more dunlops are available. in the mean time I will have the staggered Dunlop M3's on the stock wheels in the rear and A/S pirellis in the front. this should at least give me more rear traction to get me out of a snow storm !!

After talking to Luke, I have abandoned this set up since it seems to be unsafe. canceled my order for now. my only choice is to have dunlop's in the rear and blizack in the front, but I hate the idea of having mismatched tires!! I think I will just spend the season hiding until the roads are clear of snow, unless someone wants to sell me their snow tires. Anyone?

Are you going with a staggered setup? I may have 2 Blizzak LM-22's for sale (225/45) 1000 miles on them at most

PM me if interested
