There's a E55K engine on ebay for $12,500. Shipped free from Netherlands to California. It included complete engine, transmission and ecu, basically all you need to do a swap, except for a rear diff. I got my engine on ebay from Belgium. Longest wait ever, but it should be worth it for the added HP.

Sean - Nice catch on the S500 motor, so I guess the C6 project is put on hold...I do hope in the future you come to your senses and switch over to the side.
Ohh I'm still on the dark side, I figure this last project will not only satisfy me temporarily in my ever growing need for HP, but will be a big ++on resale when I let her go...
I couldn't pass it up I figure I'll get the car runing top notch & keep it for another 6-8months...
I can't bare the thought of keeping this car till it's only worth like 12-14 grand I'll cut free of it and let some lucky bast*ard inheriit my plethora of mods
Then yes I will join you on the Dark Side C 666
I want both but I don't like being in the red

Another great tip! I am going to replace the stock platinum plugs with the colder NGK-BKR7E that Jim recommended for all SC'd benzs. I think someone else on this thread gave me the same part number.

Btw. My check engine lights that indicate my AFR is running too rich will be taken car of this weekend after I install the NGKs.

Vadim, Josh R and others correctly stated that I will have drivability issues UNTIL the car has been tuned under daily driving conditions. Normally this would take anywhere from a few weeks to even a few months to perfect the ECU for a particular model car. He will try to fastrack it (but not sacrifice perfection) to 2 (Sat and Sun) days of tuning while car is being driven.

I should have the car back by Monday FULLY and PERMANENTLY tuned under WOT AND daily driving conditions. Afterwards all the HPS C55's will get the same program that was developed using my car as part of the ECU upgrade option. Not sure if and when owners of other models will have this whole ECU package.

Guess What? To my surprise when I took my car to a Kleemann dealer and the Tech told me the HPS Heat Exchanger on my car was bigger and higher quality than the one supplied with Kleemann's Kit. I certainly did'nt expect to hear that. You can view this Heat Exchanger at www.myhps.com (picture gallery). So has Kleemann owners had a problem with their HE?

Looks like you and Vadim hit it right on the head.

For the price (approx. $35.00 a set of 20 @ NAPA), they are good quality plugs. Drawback is they don't last long. Part code = 6097

BKR7E
B = Thread Diameter of 14mm
K = Construction type: Hex Size 5/8" w/ ISO Projection Tip
R = Resistor Type Plug
7 = Heat Range #7
E (Stand-alone Digit) = V-Grooved center electrode w/ 1.5mm diameter electrode.
6097 pregapped at (0.0315")

Good info but i believe the factory platinum plugs are also at 7 heat range (it could be also at 11 heat range #). Now how about this plug.

NGK BCP7ES

So far I got 130 miles on the first half of tank (per meter). I remember putting in 14.6 gallons when the red empty light came on. So if the tank is even from top to bottom I guess I'm averaging 17.8 MPG which is driving exclusively during rush hours. I could be wrong because the OBC indicates that each trip between home and work is getting an average of 20-21 mpg.

I will monitor until tank is empty and also monitor the next full tank of gas.

So far you guys appear right! Oh shucks!

Does anybody know what the stock 2006 C55 plugs are? Is it in the owners manual?

That's alot of wrk and dough for only 22ft lbs of Tq more than the AMG C43 4.3L motor.I think you'll only notice minimal difference for the $$(4.3 to 5.0).Be patient and look and wait for a 5.5L motor like a couple of us have.You'll notice a world of a difference and you won't regret it!

Sounds mean. The GenII must be a different SC because I didn't hear the whine on Robert's car.

Ahh Your facts are slightly off, S430 motor has 275 HP 295 TO S500 has 302 HP 339 TO that's 44 more torque & 27 HP and a difference from 0-60 of S430-6.9 & S500-6.1...
Allready talked to Jim, & Bill both say they can run more boost than 5.4's + new gen II tweeks there expecting the 500 motors to make 380-390 rwhp Bill said they did some partial ecu tuning only to a CLS500 w/gen II and got 365 rwhp w/out more boost or bigger injecters...So in summation the 500 is a great idea/platform and will increase my hp dramaticly....
Even your C43 motor only had 302 torque What are you talking about that would make it 37 ft lbs more??
I'll be getting the performance of the 5.4 w/blower @ a fraction of the price

Ling,
Next week at the Rose Bowl, I'll let you drive the car for a few miles on the freeway to get a feel for the new power. Jesse is finishing with the final tuning on my car after the rain subsides (two days of road tuning). This is custom tuning beyond anything one can buy off-the-shelf.

All the C55 HPS owners have GOT TO THANK ME for setting the bar higher and higher as this "Enhanced" system will be available in all future kits. My butt dyno honestly "feels" that this car is making over 440rwhp right now with 8+lbs of boost with this cold weather and the 50lb Bosch injectors. I'm accelerating so fast from 20mph to 100mph that the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up.

By swapping to colder spark plugs (stock Bosch-IFR6D10 per my dealer based on my VIN#) and going to FR4's and getting the torque converter adjusted I should get another 50rwhp because the split second stutter when accelerating is probably due to detonation caused by extreme boost in cold weather and 91 Octane gas.

So far I have not paid a dime out of my pocket. I know I've been inconvenienced but I think future customers will not be because this kit will be perfected by then.
