Has anyone put headers on the C32?

I am looking to change the sound of my car. I want that deep sound not loud but aggressive. (C55 quality) Spoke with Kleeman and they told me that the C32 has the Remus package (tubing, etc) specially made for the AMG. Suggested that I not change out the muffler because it's one of the best on the market.

Because of low production, Kleeman does not have headers for the C32. All I found so far is Evosport and Supersprint.

Lastly, if you remove the resonator, does that give you a deeper sound?

nothing is going to make your car sound like a V8.

headers wont make any difference as far as sound goes either

Agreed. I've personally heard a C32 with headers (I have a feeling they are supersprint), and the sound was pretty much the same.
Reso delete should give you more throaty sound, not necessarily deeper.

I am working with a Kleeman dealer in Charlotte, NC who just quoted me $3,800 for their headers which also eliminate the top two cats, so they are available if a bit pricey. Haven't made up my mind yet.

I would like to meet up with him an hear it. If its too loud, it will probably become annoying after while. Especially with long distance travel.

Any way, after going back to dealership because the cable in my stering column broke. It wouldn't lower into driving positon (another story) My service guy told me that although the muffler is a Remus, it's the stock version ie (QUIET) as mouse. He recommended upgrading the muffler. He to said that you wouldnot hear a difference with new headers.

The Eisenmann muffler cost about $1,300USD. I rather put headers on and get the bump in horse power and delete the Res!

Evo's cost around $1,500USD

any thoughts?

gswc32: Headers will not any additional sound, but will improve HP.

On my C32, with headers, no resonator, no secondary cats and stock muffler, car is just tolerable. It is kind of kind of raspy at wide open, but not too intrusive with windows open. With windows closed it is just a tad louder than stock.

my friend who's also on this board with a C320 has a custom quad using a magna flow muffler in place of the resonator. Not sure how this affect his car's output, but it sounds more like the V8 than anything when it's revved.

i have eisenmann race, it alone can be very very loud. cold startup it's freaking loud and raspy. after it's warmed up tho, you can't hear it at idle from inside. outside it pulses throatily a bit at idle, but it's still got that smooth v6 hum under accel but sporty tone, but not a raspy v8. i love the smooth resonating scream at WOT but it's no V8 sound for sure. for power, it's not the best return on investment. removing your resonator and keeping a stock muffler will make the car a little raspier and a little louder, and is very very cheap to do. you can remove the 2 rear cats too without tripping a CEL and it should make it louder as well as free up some power. headers alone do not make much difference on sound on a C32, but do add power. i would definitely do headers if i had the money.

that is the exhaust setup i would recommend for most power. it seems like a smart way to make power and open up some sound

Update, I did the res delete with a magna flow muffler. Sounds a little better, but not what I'm looking for. The stock muffler is still toooo quite..

I am not sure I understood you. Did you change the rear muffler or did you replace resonator with a Magnaflow muffler?

Ok, got it. You might as well bypass the resonator. Magnaflow will sound very, very similar to stock.

Do not waste your money with resonators. Just replace it with a bypass pipe. Do a search, someone in the past posted a sound clip of what C32 sounds like w/o resonator.
