classic and still sexy...

what are the specs on that car.. engine displacement, transmission, hp/tq/ weight? I would asume is mid engine correct?

I'm not too familiar with Ferrari's since they are way above my league.

I think it's like 350 or so hp right?

Man the 348 / 355's are my favorite cars ever. I really hope to get one!

yes the nicest ferrari imo. the gts preserves the look of the coupe and allows open air driving where you hear the sound of the engine as it screams to 8500 rpm. 375 hp at 8300 rpm with torque peak at 6000. but torque is broad from 4000 up so it amazing to have long pulls in gear. weight about 3200 lbs.

what makes it special is the flat crank and even firing order- exhaust pulses are like a sport bike at redline (4 clyinder reving to 16,000 rpm).

the 355 is almost a totally different car vs the 348.

Totally different, yes, but still one of my favorite

Why did you get rid of the F-Car?

Ricky...no i sold my s2000 and am selling my vr4 in exchange for the f355.

actually will have an ad run in road and track mag 1/2 page in early feb....hopefully that gets the vr4 spyder in front of an audience.

clkcadet- it's a 1996 not sure that's newer but yes 6 spd was the way to go for me...

Ah so you still have the F-Car! SWEET!

Whenever I browsed F-Chat, I've always read stuff about maint. on the cars being excessive. Do you think it's bad enough or is it bearable?

I think if I do well enough finishing up highschool and getting into the college of my (and my parents) choice, I may be able to convince my dad to let me get rid of the X5.

ricky the big job is the timing belts on the f355. engine has to come out -$4000-$8000 depending who you go to. that's at 30k or 5 yrs which ever come first. annually it's oil change and every 2 yrs tranny fluid but that's minor stuff. parts are horrendously expensive if anything goes wrong.

the 360 uses belts but engine stays in for belt swop.

f430 uses timing chain no need to change.

i wouldnt make it daily driver....best suited as a special occasion car........my pulse rate still goes up 10 mins before an anticipated spin!

Hm, I'll call Ferrari of Houston and see how much they'd charge for the change.
That might be a bit much for a college budget.

We should get together and create another Ferrari competitor. :p

Vader i toyed with the idea of a speed yellow gt3 as well.........posted quite a bit on rennlist in past. you over there yet?

Ricky FoH is prob reg dealer $8000. I have a mechanic already. i have to get mine done sometime next yr. really would like a kevlar timing belt as made by power enterprises.....but only jap applications at present.
