I regret not getting 275's. My car is lowered with 9.5/265 and I experience absolutely no rubbing.

when i got this car i was planning on putting 285's on an 18'' rim to try and get better traction but after reading through this forum it seems it will never work
now i cant decide whether to go with 19'' on 265 tires like most others or have the 18'' rims with 265/35/18 tyres to try to avoid rubbing, only i don't know if this is any less likely to rub

I have 19x10 with 265 lowered and i had to roll my fenders 2 different times. I might have to go in one more time.

-1st time i dropped the car it didnt rub when i was driving by myself
(fenders not rolled)

-Once i had a single passenger in the rear. ALL hell was heard.

-I went in to roll the fenders and i can now sit 2 passenger in the rear.
(one left and one right)

-Again i rubbed if i made a left or right turn.

The very last time i went in i rolled it again,
Now i can have up to 3 passengers in the rear. I will only rub if i make a hard left or right turn.

I hope this will be the last time.

i have 265/30/19 on c32. i have had experience with falken grb fk-451 and now currently goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3. car was very very low on H&R coilovers, and i have had my fenders rolled. with the falkens, it never rubbed, even if i had car full of passengers when my car was very very low. when i put on the goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3, it was basically rubbing while sitting. if i took my foot off the brake just a little bit while in drive, all i would hear was rubbing...there's no way i could drive like that. so, i had my rear suspension raised, and it does not rub in the rear at all. i have had one passenger in the rear and it does not rub now, but i have not tried all 3 in the rear. that said, c55 may be different. good luck with your wheel/tire combo, hope it works out safely and provides the performance and looks you want too.

i just got Toyo T1Rs and with 265-35-18 in the rear it is far from rubbing... i think with T1Rs b/c of how the sidewall is, that 275s might fit!!

ah i wanted T1-R's, i loved the T1-S's. i just got a killer deal on the eagle f1's and they were rated very good. if i could choose, i would probably get T1-R's.

i'm surprised u went w/ 19 x 10 in rear. when i got my 19's, iForged told me 19 x 9.5 was largest width i can go for rear w/o any rubbing or fender rolling.

Supposedly they are. It feels like there is more to roll when you run your finger underneath the fender. At least on my car anyway.

It depends on three things:

1. Wheel - it's offset

2. Tire brand, not all 265s are the same.

3. Suspension height. i.e. whether it has been lowered or not.

You might need to roll or cut rear lip.

I think the 275's will fit. Going to go with them next. I have a ton of room.

why Kentmbz rubs and you don't rub ?
I am really puzzled as my big wish is to have 19" 265 rear and dont want any rubbing issues with passenegers
and hell I dont know what rolling the fender really means to the car, good or bad?

cnt

Kenmbz is running 19x10 in the rear. Apparently that 1/2" is the deciding factor on how much it rubs/how much you can tuck the rear. Rolling the fender is no big deal. Just make sure the shop that is doing the rolling knows what they're doing.

ok , 19" 9.5 265/30 rear --> no rubbing issues for C55 even 3 passengers at backseats , and no need to roll the fender. Got it!
thx

Yea thats true. I have 19x10's

And to answer your question Sauceboy01. I really dont drive much people around. And when i do, its only girls. Not bs'ing, but i drive my girlfriends friends around when we go out on saturdays. All my friends have their own cars. This car is my get to work car and 6 of 7 days its just me driving. I have never owned a car which was never slammed. This is my only car that was dropped tastefully. I wont go any higher

does a c55 have different measurements in the rear wheel case (fender) or through suspension than a C230 '05+ so that a 265 tire would perfectly fit a C55 but not a C230?
does anyone know for sure?

i have 265 PS2's in the rear, and it rubs on bumbs. Brabus wheels and Brabus springs. i was thinking of trying the eagles f1 gs-d3 next. do the eagles have rounder/shorter/smaller sidewalls than the PS2's?

The fender are actually not rolled came out of the factory. They made'em that way. Come check out my fender sometimes if you want to see what happens if you really roll the fender.

My old Axis and HRE were both having rubbing issue, so I had the fender well shaved and fender rolled. Now with the 1/16 19x10 rear it doesnt' rub at all. At least I hasn't heard anything :p

btw guys, all these are more related to the offset than the width of the rear wheels.

you can rub with 225 in rear it depends on offset! please take time to educate yourself on wheel sizing and you will have a clear understanding of what's required for proper fitment.

9.5 wide optimal rear ET is 40 w 265. i have tsw bremmas with ET 35mm. There is an area rear inner fender that touches also some metal extrusions around trim area. take a look you will immediately see...........i ground down mine a bit with a dremel tool. careful you don't mess with the clips. now it takes a big bump and 2 ppl in back before i touch and then it just the plastic inner fender not metal (thats dangerous)

also - i had falken and PS2....and there is dramatic difference in width for same sizes. the falkens are narrower.
