No powered rear sunshade for 2003?

I was at my dealer today, picked up the new 2003 C-Class catalogue, got a copy of the "official" equipment order form, and one thing was missing from it. There was no listing for the power rear sunshade, standard or as an option. I then asked my dealer after I reviewd the form, why there is no listing for the power rear sunshade, he told me that it is not available for the 2003 C-Class.

I then took at look at the 2003 C-Class catalogue and in the back of it where they list all of the standard and optional equipment, there was not a listing for the power rear sunshade either. This applies to every C-Class, not just the C32 AMG.

Can someone please shed some light on this? I was looking forward to the rear sunshade .

By the way, the dealer told me that my car will be at the dealership no later than November 10th .

What a disapointment! I wonder why Mercedes-Benz no longer offers it on the C-Class.

Sunshade Abuse

I think it is because somebody in Texas abused one
So they decided to remove the source of the temptation.

John: you can always get a manual rear sunshade like me. I never took it out when I have it on. Either you want the sunshade to serve the sun-blocking purpose or for the sake of "look", in both cases you'll hardly take out the shade. For me, it really doesnt matter whether its electronic controlled or not.
P.S. I'll send you an e-mail within the next couple of days.

John,

I find that to be odd, my car was order with the powered rear sunshade, and was delivered to me with this option. Could it be a misprint? I would be very surprised if they stopped offering the sunshade on the C class. You may want to check with other dealers to see if you get the same story. Possibly your dealer was misinformed?, I had that happened to me in regards to the new xenons headlights for the 03 model.
Hope this helps

From what I recall, it's still on the order list for the Canadian '03 C-class. I'll check it again later to verify.

You do not have to go manual. I bought an aftermarket power rear sun shade with a wireless remote. I was searching and saw it on youtube and myspace. Pretty cool videos. But I bought it on ebay before the auction ended. I love it...Not only blocks the sun but Truck lights at night. So why pull up when you can power up.

My 2003 C32 also came with a power rear sunshade option

Maybe it was offered on the latter 03 models
