W211 E55 AMG, ML63 AMG, Past 996GT3,ZCPM3,Brabus C32,ML 500
What is happeneing is this.
Guys burned out on the W203..
Guys burned out on no clutch
Guys burned out on the brand.
For real I turned and started looking when the C230K's came out with the C32 kit.
Then I started driving my friends M's and missed shifting.
Then I noticed everyone and ther MOM has a Benz.
Then I looked at a E55, CLS55 and a SL55.
They were all fast and comphy.
Why should I get another fast comphy ride when I have a C32.
The difference in the 55's was minimal, and missing a clutch.
SO I went totally south.
I got a car that is a track/street car and one that is very exclusive.
Only 1000 or so made.
The only way I would EVER get another AMG would be to have a Commuter.
I might be tempeted on a C63 AMG if it really is exclusive and as a DD.

I think in time alot of people get "used" to things no matter how nice, and simply need a change. I personally change cars about every 2-3 years simply because I want to start over (blank canvas for mods).
The CL is HUGE jump from the c32 though! One of the best looking MB's ever made

Well said. I am nowhere near burning out on my awesome C32. Then again, It's one of 4 vehicles and I only drive it about once or twice a week, so I experience that "new" excitement every time I drive it!
In my opinion, a lot of guys lose their a s s when upgrading so soon.

amg screwed over their customers. the c230k, while not a bad car, was the downfall of the c32. i think i approached my car the wrong way and should have gone for performance - some good suspension, lightweight wheels, and pulley/ecu, intake, ignition, and headers. to go this route now would be too costly. however, i think that many people, including me, began to realize that it's not worth it after a while to spend too much on an entry-level car. c32 can be a good car. meanwhile, it's auto and it's no fun...

The C230's have not ruined it for everyone! I'm trying to get a C32 and it will be my first Mercedes. Jumped the BMW ship last month when my 5 series got totaled. After 6 years in it, I figure it's time for a change and the C32 seemed like a good place to start. Unfortunatly, the insurance Co. did not give me a good enough head start to get the E55.
I drove an '06 C230 this morning and although it felt kinda like a C32 on the highway, it lacked the umph and that feel that you only get with the true AMG cars. Nice car for the money, but I wonder what they will be worth down the road??? Kinda like the 3 series BMW's.....can't go anywhere without seeing a dozen or so.
