You aint gonna get a v8 into a 32, thats why the c55 has had a whole new front to accomodate there 5.5ltr v8.

I spoke to a mercedes technician that i know, he said with some minor modifications it could be done. He said I would need the E55 computer, suspension not the tranny as the transmission would be the same. Look at the C43, many poeple are doing the swapping for the 5.5 engine. I just like to bring weird things up...

You would have to do a lot of modification to a W203 in order to fit into the engine bay. It would fit on a W202 with very little modification. People have been swapping E55 non-kompressor engines into their W202. The W202 has a larger engine bay than the W203. The C43 is a W202.

Brabus and other tuners made V8 W023 cars that were not baised on the c55. It fits but its not a very simple job. If you plan to do that just start with a C55 and your life would be a bit more simple!

well before I jump into this mess i am going to do a lot of research so when i decide to do this i get no surprises. I am getting many opinions from a lot of people, but the person that will do the swap for me, if it happens will be my friend, he works for mercedes at Long Island, he has been doing it for around 8 years. He has done a couple of c43 to 5.5 swaps. I asked him last night and he said with some modifications it could definitely be done. The tough part is getting a cheap 55 engine. Most of the one i have seen want 15-16K

P.s. if i start with a new C55 i am lookig at 50kor more sticker price+15 to 20K or more (to get it Kleemanized)= 540 HP and 70 to 80K in total $

if i start with my C32 I owe alomst anything on it+ E55 engine (15k if i could find one for that price)= 20k or more plus some labor= 500+ HP

I think i will stick with the C32.

You could also sell your C32 for low30's, buy a used C55 for the low 40's, and start with that instead. If you want a AMG 55k motor you could sell your C55 motor and then but a used E55k motor and install that. Something about having all the mounting points for the motor and trans matching up would be a real stress reducer when it came to the mods. Youl also just strap on a RENNtech or Kleemann blower to the stock C55 and go with that.

Putting a V8 into a C32 is really a real stressful idea. Starting with a C55 would be much more simplistic.

But yes a V8 can be put into a C32. It just takes a TON of work.

I definitely agree, that it will be a lot of stress.....that is why i have come up with the idea of just buying an E55 for the summer. I really did not want to deal with the large body. I wanted my C32 to be a sleeper, but if I am going to throw 20K around might as well be in a E55.

I could take this 2 ways

1. Sell my C32 and get an E55 and do some minor upgrades

-or-

2. Sell my C32 and get a C55 for low 40's and then Kleemanize it.

and the crowd says....

The reason the C43 - 5.5 motor works is because it uses the same tranny.Does the C32 tranny bolt up to the 5.5?

That is something i need to find out, but this mod will not happen unless i find an engine for some 10 to 12k,

Kenzmbz: for the right price my engine will be available. I saw the German potomac store and they are selling a C32 engine for like 7,995.00, if i let my engine go it would be around 6K.

You will most likely need the transmisson, ECU, and TCM from an E55K. It's easier to just find a whole salvaged E55K car and swap the whole drivetrain.

There's no way the transmission on a C32 is exactly the same as an E55K. The V8 tranmission is built to withstand much higher HP and torque. Even if you got the motor to fit on your transmission, there's a risk of the transmission failing since it's not built to withstand 500HP.

yes, if i could find one, but a whole crashed one will cost you mid 30's to high 20's, not going that route, for that i would buy the E55 preowned. They are actually selling one in florida with 16k miles, 2003, for 56K, Black on Black, looks very nice.

Well there are many things you can do. I went from a C32 to an E55 and well it really is a huge car. I now a good friend with who I go to track events. We take his C32 and a BMW race car and we dont even bother with the E55 because it is just so huge and heavy.

But remember the added mass from a blower on a W203 (C55k) will make the car about 150 lbs heavier and that is a good chunk of mass. With that you are pushing 4k lbs. For a little more mass you can have an E55 with the added space etc.

a $56K E55 sounds like a great deal and if you could get used to the bigger car you would love the power. A chip and pulley on a 55k is enough to make those Kleeman cars look a bit slower. The best part is that a 55k motor uses 9:1 compression and can run higher boost than say a 11:1 C55 motor. An E55k stock (with a good driver) is about equal to a supercharged C55. Add a few go fast parts to the E and those W203's are less interesting.

Good luck
