I smashed up my C32 front hood, CL grill and bumper.
Need to order replacement part, will the C55 parts fit?
Otherwise where can I get CL style grill?

Thanks

You can do the CLK front conversion ..... but you will need new headlights for that as well as all of the other parts listed above.

heard that you got an accident last two weeks.

I really hope you could learn a lesson, and will never drive crazy on the street like an idiot.

good luck, famous guy.

why are you such an ***? i'm sure he feels bad enough that he got into an accident...i would if it happened to me. but he's asking for advice, not another " i hope you learn a lesson"

if the price is reasonable, i say do the c55 front end conversion. your car would be totally unique from all others...which is pretty cool in my book.

Out of curiousity, what is involved with a C55 frt. end conversion??? I assume, bumper, head lights, hood, grill, fog lights and screen mesh, but what other "behind the scenes" items like brackets, etc.??? I would hope that you don't have to change out the frt. fenders as well. Anyone done this conversion, and if so is there a write up on it???

Not that I'm going to run out and change my brand new car, but it's nice to know what the options are should I end up needing it down the road.

after looking long and hard at the c32 vs c55 my conclusion is that the c32 has a more balanced look. the front end of the c55 is out of whack vs the rest of the body. it is after all, a tacked on front end from the clk.

sorry to hear about your misfortune Ray. good luck fixing the c32 er c35??

As far as I know, it has never been done. There are probably more parts required than anyone of us can think of. I'd expect it to end up costing way more than it's "worth".

I'm just guessing if it were that easy, if you consider that easy, everyone would attempt it. Unfortunately for those interested in the conversion, isnt the entire front clip (from the firewall forward) from a CLK? That would be more than just the parts listed above.

i just don't wanna see the dagerous drivers on the road, are you one of the dagerous drivers? if so, i wouldn't feel bad even if you get into an accident, but would definitely feel bad for the victim.

good luck on your driving.

M M, how do you know he was driving like an idiot? Jumping to conclusions? Reserve your comments if you don't know the facts.

nope - it is he part in front of the actual main chassis beams that differs - and that is still quite a lot...as far as the main vissible parts are to be concerned, the hood, the fenders, the headlights, the grill and the front bumper are different...and then a numberous of non vissible support steel...

It is doable though (and wouldn't be the first).

Thanks for clarifying Steve.

How much does a conversion like that usually run in USD?

as far as I know C55 fenders are not the same as w209 ones. They look the same, but there are some differences.
