Hi,

Thanks, could anyone kindly let me know if the BOSE are standard on C32s, as I am told by some dealers its an option and with others telling me they are standard. The C32 I am looking at is 2003 '53' doesn't appear to be any BOSE markings like HKs in BMWs.

Thanks in advance,

Kind Regards,
Windy

IT is standard late in the life cycle when they start to include everything at the same price. In the early life of the model it is optional. But in the USA many cars are fitted with BOSE from factory and it is not so uncommon in the USA.

Only way to tell is to fiddle with the sound options in the head unit COMAND and see if you get a SPATIAL sound setting in the (small medium large) in the FIX SOUND SETTINGS parameter. That is a way to tell you have BOSE.

any body replaced their speakers for another brand?

I don't want to replace the whole system, I just would like a better speaker sound, specially from the sub.

Thanks all,

Does the factory option '810' = BOSE sound?

If you can decode the VIN or have permission to see the datacard in the log book then yes it does read as 810.

Yeah, I've heard that this is difficult because all our speakers are wired with fiber optics, so we have to rewire all the speakers. I have no idea if that's true, and certainly we should probably check in the telematics forum if no one here knows

Thanks everyone,

The sales person told me he got the code from the datacard and also from their computer system which showed him the spec from factory, after all this he said hes not 100% if that means its BOSE.

Sorry for all this hassle, but I am trying to find out as much as possible before I go see the car, as it is more then 200+ miles away from me.

Thanks for everyones time.

Kind Regards,
Windy

Not true. They are wired just like any other car speakers.

challenge is that they're 2ohm compliant amp and speakers, not because they're fiber (which they're not).

Windy, are you asking because you want or don't want the BOSE system? I have the BOSE system in my '03 C32 and the sound is really poor.

Am I the only one who thinks so? I have been under the impression that all of the sound systems in the C32 have been weak.

50% of the time, i hate the sound of the C32..

there are a few tracks which are frq of the songs are really low and very clear, which this system can handle really well due to the fiber optic connection.

I agree, speakers will never have F.O. connections, only the receiver to the amp.

The system can be played really loud without much distortion, but it lacks the punch.

my G35 sedan had a better sub the this car.

I just replaced all my speakers (except the sub) few months ago and the sound quality has improved a bit.

Thanks, to begin with I actually wanted the BOSE system and thought it was suppose to be good, sounds like I will want to replace them.

Crappy quality or not, I'm sure they are a ton better than the stock system in my current car (99 honda accord), which is definitely a step up IMO.

Don't be so sure. IMO this bose system is worse than stock "premium" system of 99 camry.
