Has anyone tried this CF Pillars?

Hate to see finger marks on the pillars... has anyone tried this yet? How's the look, fit & finish? Good or bad?

Your worst nightmare...
Don't all AMG's come with carbon fiber pillars? My C32 has it.

my E does... not my C55.... the pillars are only regular black plastic / fibers....

Hmm... didn't realize C32 has CF... so if I want to get a good fit (not just an add-on like the one in eBay), I think I could buy C32 pillars instead...

Correct me if i'm wrong but i thought the C32's came with a carbon fiber "look" pattern on the door pillars. I heard they are called brushed aluminum? But i bought a pair of carbon fiber door pillars from ebay also and i love the look! i'll try to take some pics later

Is it the stick-on cover like the one I linked above? If so, what's the fit & finish? Precise? Some close-up pictures of edges will be helpful.

Thanks!!!

zoink, no, C32 does not come with carbon fiber B pillar. It's plastic but with pattern trying to mimic carbon fiber. But they're not even close IMO.

If Jody420 has real CF b pillars, then they must be aftermarket.

gochin, would love to see some close up pictures of your CF, especially on top where it stops at a small plastic trim, and the bottom as well. Thanks.

I believe the C32 pillars are aluminum and have a carbon fiber look.. How do you guys feel about the 3M double sided tape.. seems kind of cheap to just stick these on the car.. any problem with them peeling off?

OK. We don't want any cheap looking stuff on our car. So we need to overlay them with real CF sheets. Now, does anyone know how to remove B-pillars ?

sticking fake carbon fiber to the pillars is absurd

It is "real", but it's just a tiny thin layer of CF with resin overlaid on top of it. I took mine out of the trunk today and two of them have bent due to the low temperature. I lay them on my car again to see how it would look and I still wouldn't put them on.

MB discontinued making the CF looking plastic b-pillar trims in 03. Only 02-older have these pillars. 2002 C32's the only W203 AMG with these pillars.

Frank, r u saying that stock 03 & 04 C32s have real cf pillars ? or is it a different finish material ?

Correct. My '03 just has plain, shiny black b-pillars. I haven't examined them super-close, but I thought they were painted black. Could just be plastic, tho. They don't look extraordinarily cheap, IMHO.

I don't see why anyone would want to call attention to this relatively benign part of the car with CF or any other mods. I'd rather save the money for use on more performance-oriented mods or aesthetic mods with more prominance.

'Coz this "mod" is considered as an aesthetic mod

Neah.... I don't call it a mod.... it's just to make my eyes happier Aren't you annoyed by finger marks, little scratches and swirl marks on the pillars? I am.... if you're not, good for you.

Gochin: Waiting for the pics
