Well, I did it this weekend. I actually traded the car on a Z71 crew cab that will be my daily driver until the 997 arrives. I'll post pics of the P-car when it gets in. I figure you all know what a truck looks like.
Anyway, I have really enjoyed hanging with you guys, and may stop in from time to time and say hello. Thanks for all the support and kind words about the car.

I decided to go back to a daily driver and toy for the weekends. A couple of buddies and myself are getting into the house flipping business on the side, and I offered to get the group's truck since I was shopping anyway. It will only haul the occasional appliance or signs, etc as we are having contractors do most of the work, but I'm sure it will come in handy. Besides, I live in Alabama. Shouldn't everybody have a truck? Originally Posted by rlee02135

Seriously, the other guys are physicians and I'm an tech company owner. They care more about what's in the parking lot than I do. Then, when I want to joing the PCA at Barber...

Do we really need a reason to buy a 997 and dump a C55?

Good decision !

I have to mention the plummet of prices for the C55 in the market, by the way. Did someone link them to world hunger or herpe-ghonno-sypphil-aids or something? Yeesh.

As for gas prices, new the truck gets 15 mpg in town, hoping it loosens up a bit and improves. The AMG gave me 17ish in town, 20-21 on the highway. Since the truck takes regular unleaded ($.20 cheaper per gallon), I think it will be close to a wash.

I am really too old to thorw money into the sea and need to plan for my retirement. So, I will have to give up the 997 Turbo dream.
Wonder any C55/C32 owners went through the thinking of moving to a 911. Assuming I can find a 996 Turbo same price as a brand new 997 (no S). Put the pro and cons of preowned cars aside, what is the satisfaction difference? And which one you would get?
