modded C32 "check Engine" light
guys..
i you know me.. i have been on this forum for about 9 months and I even attended my first MB World meeting.
but my C32 is probably going to see its final days with me.
This past Saturday, while sitting in traffic on a highway, I decided to make a U turn and WOT since I was pissed.
My foot was nailed to the floor and I went from 10 to 100....
but when I hit 100... check engine went and I slowed down.
My car started to studder or shake.. and I pulled over and turned off the car for about 1 minute. My wife was asking... what is wrong with the car and I had no clue. Turn on the car and everything was back to normal. My komp was still working and I had power.
I did have 1/8 of gas and as soon as I went WOT the gas indicator went on as well.
it was a hot day too.
It's Monday and I''m going to drive by to my dealer and have it check it out.
Being a real fan of this car, it is really disappointing to have this issue. My car only has 50k miles and I had always serviced. But this probably just broke the last straw.
I think the problem was cuased by low fuel... and heating. I checked the belts and the IC pump still works.

Same with me. Car felt more responsive after they were changed also. Could have been all in my head though.

after a few days of driving the check engine light is gone...
Vadim,
I would like to take it to your dealership but its a bit far for me. I will try during the week-end.
airpump is a good suggestion... I will keep it in mind.

You more than likely do not have a problem this time. It is possible to starve or get an air bubble in the fuel pump of any car if the tank is low enough and you make a quick turn, like a U-turn, and quicky accelerate.

that is what I thinking as well...
but I will have them check the error code just in case..
so far no problem except that I'm beginning to think I need more power... sometimes I feel like i'm not pushing 370+hp.. more like 310+
I know the ECU will help, but spending another $1k for a car that i'm not going to keep is probably not a wise move.

Sounds very much like a fuel issue..
try replacing the filter. It doesn't cost much,
and would be good to do either way.
MB filters are stupid expensive..
a Bosch filter should be fine.
