Our city is very famous about its greasy roads because of density of trucks , disel vans, and double deck buses. Today, I was driving to work and there were pours of rains. Even I was driving slow in the jam , whenever I pushed the fuel pedal a little harder, the ESP light kept flashing!
There is no kidding man, after the reset, we really have to learn how to safely drive a AMG again.

Also, if your driving style is normaly very aggressive, you won't notice as much of a difference from this reset than someone who normally drives very mildly. I noticed a slight difference...not as dramatic as a lot of people here.

I read every post here, thinking many of you were delirious (no offense) and after attempting this yesterday, I am now a believer! It worked for me! Or am I just delirious also? lol
I really did notice a difference and trust me...I'm about as skeptical as they come.

I was thinking that the car wouldn't have enough time to learn the "slow/lazy" style of driving during just the warm up period. So I would think it would have the same positive effect, doing the procedure when the car has been sitting as attempting it after running the car and it's already warmed up. It would seem that the car would need much more time to discern if your driving style is aggressive or not. Just my 2 cents.

I did my 2nd reset yesterday and I turned the key at position '2'.
Is this correct?

Agreed. Since my prior post, my habit of doing the reset often when parking and then driving the car hours later has still worked well. It doesn't seem to get too sluggish from the warmup portion of my drive. However, the problem I have is that traffic on my drive requires a "Jeckyl and Hyde" style of driving - polite most of the time, then lay into it when the opportunity arises. I wish we could just defeat the system by way of a "sport mode" switch.

I am going to try this weekend since I drive this car weekends only. However, after reading all the posts, it seems it is better to warm up the engine before doing this.

Ok.. i tried this a few times and nothing.. then I realized I wasn't turning the key far enough.. Before this my SC would come on like 50% of the time when I floored it.. realy annoying.. Just tried and now every time I hit the gas the SC kicks in.. I was pretty happy!

Let me say that when I tried this, I took delivery of the car, drove home (car was nicely warmed up), did the reset and set out for a hoon.
OMG is all I have to say.
The traction light was going off like a Christmas tree!

Spread the word
1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
4. Wait at least two minutes for ECU to reset.

Guys, this DOES NOT reset your ECU. It resets your throttle sensor (or something of the sorts). My tech had a grand old time when I asked him if this was legit.

I'm no expert but, as stated several times throughout this forum, it resets the computer adaptations learned during driver input at acceleration. It is wiping the board clean, to the original factory settings. The transmission settings seem to be cleared at the same time. It tends smooth out my tranny jerk for a few days. My tech loved this trick.
