Argh. I tried doing it for longer too.. guess I will try 15 exactly, then try getting out. I never did that. Just started up and drove. Thanks.

It can't hurt. When I was first told about it, the most important point was to let off of the pedal before turning off the key- definitely leave the key in for the wait though.
I park on the top floor of a parking garage, so my car gets lazy habits if I don't reset every other week or so.
Good luck

Alternately could succumb to laziness and fork out some coin for a glorified potentiometer. (http://www.sprintboosterusa.com/)

Wait! I am suppose to do the 5 or 15 second count.. THEN RELEASE the throttle, BEFORE turning the key to the far left aka off position??? I was holding the throttle down... turning the key off.. then removing my foot from throttle.

Thanks. I considered it, then read some of the comments... members loved it, then the same members reported back that it sucked and they removed it cause the whole being unpredictable at times.

Turning the key to the ON position is when all the dash lights illuminate, correct?

lol.

This string of posts has been funny.

If you are looking for your "Clarke Kent" to turn into "Superman" with this reset, you will always be disappointed. All it does is clear the adaptions from the computer's memory. If you are a hard driver, all the time, you will notice less of a change than someone that nurses the car around town all the time, teaching the computer to baby the car.

When I clear mine, I notice the tranny jerk is reduced (somewhat) and the responsiveness is improved. It is discernible with the butt-dyno. If you can't feel a difference, get your butt inspected by a professional.

As a recap, get into the car, insert the key, turn the ignition on (not the engine) to the run position. Stomp the pedal to the floor and hold it (i do it to the count of 10-one-thousand), turn the ignition off, remove your foot from the pedal. The wait time is a hoax, best I can tell. I never wait anymore. After a few moments, I can start the car and feel the slight (but enjoyable) difference.

edit: I just remembered..pointman, you have 2004, don't you? I believe the process changed for the 2004 model year. You will need through this thread more carefully to find that procedure. I do not remember it.

Son of a &^#@%$!!!!! So subtly done, that I know you're pwning me.. yet I am going to actually go back and comb over the thread more carefully just. in. case.

And I think Admin ScottW911 just pwnd the rest of you. He basically said I am the Dominic Toretto of the 32 world. I drive too fast and too furious for this silly little "reset" to even be felt by a 0-40 mph beast like me.

And for this thread... I hope you all get diarrhea while at work. Nothing severe, just embarrassing.

What was once, is not forever. I guess I was an idiot in my younger days? I have become obsessed with this, and can't get anything out of it. And I may have been bumping to get insight.

Considering its a myth, I'd do it before picking up your pot of gold from the end of the rainbow, but after you drop your unicorn off for an oil change.
