I am trying to figure out what pump or valve sits on top of the supercharger at the very back. It is circled in red below, what ever it is, is ticking and pissing me off.

What part is this?-small-eng.jpg

Thats no surprise!!! If i were working on my Mustang i would say that is the EGR valve- but from my finding on this site the EGR valve is behind the drivers headlight, and the air pump is located behind the passenger light. So from what I've read those are the two main components on these that tend to go out and make a ticking noise when doing so. Sorry for such a newbie question here, I just figured posting would get me the quickest answer- execpt in this case i got the quickest smart *** answer I could have only wished for. Yes, the red part that is circled...??

Finally, someone gives a straight answer. I'd imagine it is NOT a good thing when that part starts to make unconventional sounds.

02benzc32, I apologize for the doofus replies you've gotten. You have to admit though, there are some entertaining doofus' on this forum.

LOL, no problem, without entertaining doofus' where would we be???? Yeah that dosn't sound good, my check engine light came on and its pulling a "Secondary Air Injection Code", so I automatically assumed it was the smog pump, finally looked under the hood and its not the smog pump making noise- its that thing....! damn. It looks really easy to replace, just wonder how much it will be.
