Hey Sunman, Yes I have already picked up the hangers, the tub, a clamp between both exhausts and I just ordered the screens.

I have a question though?? Do you think its ok to use a different epoxy? I was just going to find my own epoxy.. man the gun in that pic is impressive!! lol.. I wasn't planning on getting the MB epoxy and certainly dont have access to a gun like that.

Also, any idea how hard it is to get that tub out? I was going to give removing it a try this weekend before taking it to the shop..

The gun is pretty expensive alone. Around a grand if you wanna buy one. However, most windsheild shops carry it for their windsheild adhesive! You can get one of them to use theirs. I would recommend the factory epoxy only. When it dries, it still has some flex to it. Not like silicone. Most aftermarket epoxies dry really hard and can crack over time with vibration. Also, most after market epoxies are not UV protected so they can become brittle over time. If the epoxy is black then it's usually UV protected. If you go to the store and buy tubes of epoxy, you're going to need hellva lot of them! As for the tub, it can be tricky to get it out. Try to wedge a scraper on one side and work your way around. Make sure you get all the old glue off before applying the new glue. You can also try to feed a piano wire and with someones help underneath pull the wire around the tub. The same wire is used to remove windsheilds.

Spare tire well is under C55, around $350. The most expensive part is probably the C55 AMG exhaust tips, because they are welded to the muffler and cost around $500+. The problem is, C55 tips aren't paralel to each other. One sticks out more than the other. So either:
A. you buy 2 sets of C55 tips+muffler ($1000 +), or
B. buy a set of C55 tips+muffler, and only use the tips; or
C. find 2 pairs of aftermarket tips; or
D. with luck, try to find OEM AMG tips on Ebay like this.
Bumper cut shouldn't be hard to do.

That's even better. What r u waiting for then ?
C55 bumper is around $900. I'd just save the money and cut the C32 bumper if I were you, especially since your car is black. Good luck. This should be a fun cosmetic mod.

LOL!! I am waiting for the heat shields that go over the mufflers. I have them on order and they should be in on Monday. I actually have a c55 bumper too. I think I will just go the easy way and cut my c32 bumper. The c55 bumper I have is silver and it would cost more to paint than to cut my c32 bumper..

Actually, anyone want to buy a silver c55 rear bumper? It needs to be repainted but there aren't any deep scratches or rips/tears.. just a quick respray and it shoudl be good to go. I may consider painting myself because I have a sprayer compressor etc..

Amgmark,

How did you end up removing the spare tire well? Wedge something like a putty knife underneath and pry at the sealed area? Or use a piano wire? Probably need to use a strong braided wire to cut through the epoxy. I'm trying to take out my spare tire well by wedging a tool around the edges and prying like mad. I need to do this in order to fit my custom quad exhaust system. I have a friend who will then make a fiberglass subwoofer enclosure on the bottom. Too bad the rear end of my coupe is too small for a C55 spare tire well.

Hehe...using the piano wire technique is almost like playing the game Hitman.

I am still waiting.. (over a month now..) for the drivers side heat shield.. Ordered from Germany. The first time the part came in it was mislabeled and not the correct part..

Here are some pics of all the other parts. I will post up the part numbers in a follow up..

why not get two separate guns from home depot, and just crank them the same each time......

Amgmark,

Try using two automotive grease guns. There are electric and manual grease guns that are made to express viscous compounds. I don't think a normal caulking gun from Home Depot would generate enough pressure to squeeze out the compound, unless you want to sprain a muscle in your hand/forearm. Could you provide some details on the epoxy kit such as instructions and what's included. The "epoxy" is rubbery like polyvinylsiloxane material, and I suspect that you just coat the tub and metal frame with adhesive, then sandwich the compound between the two pieces.

There is a Primer for paint and plastic (jar), glass activator (small tube with sponge on the end), glass primer (jar), 4 inch wire with a swab like tip, two plastic tips for the epoxy, and the two adhesive tubes which are connected.

I am assuming that the surfaces need to be cleaned and primed.. Not sure why there are two primers.. There are no directions unfortunately.

If the tub didn’t play a big role in the car’s rigidity I’d probably find a way to bolt it instead of gluing it.

No instructions? I bet the two small bottles are the primer/activator glue. Clean the surfaces of the tub and metal frame of the car, then test the two bottles on a small area. It will probably become sticky, then you apply the mixed material in the two tubes in equal amounts.

The tub needs to be glued down to prevent water from getting inside the car. Bolting it down wouldn't work.

I have looked at the E55 AMG and I am convinced that I can build one for at least half of what MB is asking.
I can build one with more power and style than MB ever dreamed of.
I will need to purchase a car to test so please pay pal me $5000.00 per person(limited to the first 1000 senders, who will also be eligible to enter my CF air box scam,my throttle body scam,,, and yes my, just how much money and so little brains: CF air box lottery up your dumb-*** butt scam, yessirrebob.
Also, please note, within about a month from now I intend to raffle off the car that has not arrived with a "Lucky Draw" .
I have spent years in research and as my clones and bots (who have purchased my previous products previously) will testify i am a man of his word.
I believe I can make it with a top speed of at least 267mph, with seating for 6, that will out handle a Lotus Elise, with a body that Ferarri would die for, all with the reliability of a Toyota, while getting 34 mpg,all this with customer service to the same standards that you have grown to expect and love from MBUSA:ie, i will not be around to do anything.nah only kidding, anyways, please start sending funds asap to "Virus Motor Sports".

Thought I would add an update.. I am still waiting for the drivers side heat shield.. 203-682-46-71. I have called a couple of dealers and both confirm that there are none of these heat shields in the USA and that there are only 9 total available in Germany. The second dealer said that it should not take more than 3 weeks.. 2 week max hold up in customs which is rare.. I have been waiting a month. I know that my parts guy will give me a great discount for having to wait.. but if he doesn't have my part in a week I am ordering from the other dealer..

So its hurry up and wait time..
