740 has more room, c55 is faster and more fun - how much luggage, how many people, etc...

I drive my car from mpls to chicago (02 c32) with two kids and our luggage, and it's tight in the trunk, but otherwise it's a great ride. I haven't done a multi-day trip in the car yet. Also, I get about 21-23mpg for all highway at 70 (or so )

i like to ride my bike
The 740 is definitly more comfortable and has more room.but
its also fast on the highway.
Acceleration is better on the C55 but it lacks the mentioned above!

C55 or 740IL

Just Two night trip, not much luggage.
Total 3 adults.
C55 is 2005
740IL is 1998
I made couple of trips with 740IL it is definitely roomy and surprisingly on highway it gives me more that 25 m/g.
I never took long trips in C55, will AMG will run smooth like BMW 740IL? Can I drive non stop 10 hrs (will take small rest stops only)
pl. let me know

Yeah, I wouldn't make an adult sit behind another adult for 10 hours in the C class unless one of them is very small and one of them can comfortably move the seat way up (or back, depending).

take the 740, your passengers with thank you. also you save money and time because you said mpg is better than the c55 and i imagine the 740 gas tank is much bigger, therefore allowing you to travel further which filling up for gas.

take both cars and see which one gets there first. J/K. i would take the 740iL, that's what it's made for-- comfort.

well if its just 3 adults, take the C55, it would be fun, especially a little car on the highway, and besides...it turns more heads.

Actually, here's what I would do: Go find yourself a good chauffeur, have him drive you in the 740 while you plant yourself in the back seat and enjoy a nice bottle of wine
