Power loss-Not caused by I/C pump but Boot?
Well, to my surprise, they stated that all my problems (additional ESP malfunction causing a Limp Mode event twice ) were caused by one cheesy little part. Apparently, an air intake boot can cripple the C32.
The partial invoice description is as follows: <found on road test air intake temperature was going too high and causing timing to retard and compressor to disengage>// replace complete air filter housing mount assy<came apart allowing engine compartment hot air to influence engine running conditions, causing lack of power and trans conditions// read and erase any tech set codes during insp process//road test after repairs//
Looks like the only related parts used were "Air Cleaner Rubber Mounts" Part #965 WSM 0.60.
Hmmmmmm... I hope that was all it was but I do NOT feel any better about what could be looming, down the road, for me if I am going to be possibly replacing an I/C pump or Tranny.
Has anyone else had this issue when they though it was the more expensive pump or Glycol TSB?
I feel a little stupid after going in with all my print outs of pump and tranny issues just to be told I just needed a new rubber.

Hope that's helpful.
I'm guessing the problem will be either transmission, drive shaft or both.
I am hoping they will just keep the car and hand me the $.
But I'm not sure that you can attribute everything to the little rubber mounts that sit on the engine and hold down the airboxes.
Please let us know if your troubles return.

I went straight back to the dealer. Of course, they can't look at it until tomorrow at the earliest. I assume that means I'm out of my car for another week.
I am sure the rubber seal had something to do with the power loss. I know that it was not the fix though. I still can't figure out how it could have been the cause of the Tranny jerk.

Now that I think about it, I believe the car drove worse after this last "fix".
