Burnout trouble!?
hey, i recently tried to do a burnout in my car, and it won't do it...esp is off, holding the brakes down and 1st gear and gasing, halfway up to like 3k rpm it cuts off the gas, wat gives!?

Even though you have ESP off it is still intervening. I had the same issue when I was trying to burn out at the track on drag radials. You will probably have to put your car in dyno mode if you wish to do a burnout holding down the brakes.

Sometimes different surfaces can cause that, like raw concrete..
Also if its hot your engine will have some heat soak and might not be pushing all it can. The Esp will kick in eventually but just take it through the gears and try to light it the f8&K up.

Turn the key one click and hit the odometer reset 3 times before SRS light goes out. You should hear one beep and the display will show voltage meter. Scroll through the menu and you will find the new added mode.

Everytime I put my car in dyno mode and do anything out of whack, like a brake-stand, the car goes into limp-home mode.

none
I've found that just the right brake pressure helps. Mashing both pedals might not be the best way. I would apply the brake lightly and just enough to keep the car from rolling. That way you aren't trying to fight the brakes as well as the friction.

Thread-jack. Is my differential supposed to click when under stress?
I've noticed on a couple of occasions (e.g. snow or on very uneven ground) that when one rear wheel is spinning, there is a loud clicking from the rear diff. Normal?
Totally unrelated, but I also have a question about the "EC Rest" button which I assume turns off the AC compressor. When I use it, my AC seems to pump out VERY cool air for at least 5 minutes. In my old car, turning of the AC compressor had an immediate effect.

I sometimes have the same problem. If I let the car rev too high, when I let off the brake and floor the throttle, sometimes the car just totally shuts down and ESP flashes. Sometimes I am able to do a burnout. I find if I dont try so hard and rev it too high, I am able to do a rolling burnout. Same thing with launching...I found the best way to launch my car is with ESP off and just lightly rev it.

Turned on Dyno mode and was able to complete it...

I would say you are giving it too much gas with the brake on at 3K RPM. Try holding the brake and easing onto the gas. Once they start to spin let off the brake and mash the gas. Worked for me!! About 40 feet of perfect lines with enough smoke to make the wife in the house pissed. Today I even got them to spin after taking off slowly from a light and then smashing it at about 10 MPH....

It's possible your ECU reflash deals with that much better than stock?
