C32 or C35

wouldnt it be more fitting if they bumped the 320 engine out and put in the 350 engine instead?

Yep....I wonder why they aren't putting the 3.5 in the new E ??

I read they're putting into the S-class the S350....(from Edmund's)

I think they would only put the 3.5 engine towards the end of the model life.

W203 C-Class

Bablefish translation: The 350er 3713cm³ large and 245 HP, 350 Nm strong V6 engine will replace to the 320 in the following series gradually: C-class, CLK, e-class and g-class. Whether the SLK 320 is not replaced also by the 350er is well-known yet. The 3èr AMG variants is based however further on that 3.2 litres of V6. the beginning makes the ML 350, S 350 (autumn 2002) and at the beginning of 2003 the SL 350.

I think the 350 will be available on the C-Class when the car get its mid-life facelift at the end of 2003 in Europe. C35 AMG will probably be available sometime in 2004. I am guessing the C35 AMG will have about 400hp or just under it.

-G'day-

400hp? IMo, too high. I don't think AMG would want a C class to have a more powerful engine than a Clk. Of course it's only imho

i agreed. i think AMG could wait as long as when the next generation M3 appears (or when BMW start to offcially sell the M3 GTR V8). if the 3.5 is used, however, i think the horsepower will only increase by a fraction (maybe 15-20 hps).

Not yet, last time I e-mailed them with a question, it took 3 weeks to get a reply, however the response was extremely detailed.

Actually it is a 3.7 litre motor, not 3.5 They just denote it 350.
