No start this morning, now ESP and a light fault

Went out this morning and the car just clicked - no turn-over. I've never had any kind of problem like this with the car - always starts, no problem. I tried a few times - all the lights and wanrings came on, so there was SOME juice. I hooked up the charger and it fired right up BUT now I have ESP and a lighting warning.

So my guess is that I blew a few fuses with the charger hooked up, or something.

My question is, what can I look for that might be draining it and keep it from starting tommorow (or today when I go out for lunch )?

Also, are these 2 warnings that I'm getting now really from the charger, or do those indicate some problem that caused the car to not start.

Coincidentally it was in the shop until last Friday where they put in a noew Torque Converter and replaced a tail-light. Could something be related there?

Thanks!

Bif - The ESP yaw sensor is very sensitive to voltage changes and needs to be reset. Turn your steering wheel from lock-to-lock and turn off the car. The ESP light will go out on restart. This is normal behavior after battery replacement/disconnect.

How old is your battery? Perhaps it's not keeping charge anymore.

There is a known over-voltage problem with the tail lights on the W203. I believe the fix is a new harness, but it would not explain your drained battery.

bif you need a new battery. C32 starts having problems like sensor going off, jerky tranny, bulbs burn out even if its not. replace it with a new battery and all your problem will be gone. not even worth it charging it. just call road side assistance and they will install the battery for you for about $130

It was the battery. $200 for that and a new hood latch which broke when I jumped the car the last time.

Funny you should mention the bulbs burning out message even tough they are not. I just had mine at the dealership for the left front signal bulb working intermittently (They replaced the wiring harness) and now the right one is doing the same thing……….
