after 6200 miles in 3 1/2 months

i guess my car has to be a weekend car now, until the mileage balance out in another month or two.

i like to drive the car,but i don't want to have a LOT of miles on it. aanother thing is that if i ever decide to sell the car, i would get more money from it with less mileage.

Just wondering, how much you pay for the insurance? I'm sure you join with family policy...but just give us an estimate. Thanks.
i'll ask my parents tomorrow. (they are already sleeping when i made this reply)

just asked my mom. my insurance is $822/ 6 month. that's the rate after i crash my 328CI january, 2001. btw the insurance is by Farmers through a insurance agency.
. My insurance is $511 /6 months (State Farm) but it's under my parents name. I think it would have been close to $800 if I was insured on my own. FrankW...I never knew you crashed your bimmer. Sorry to hear that
. My brother has my 328i now. His is around $800/6 months cuz he's still a teenager.

A 19 year old paying 1600 a year on a C32... how? I'm paying a little over $6000 a year for insurance on my S500, and to my surprise, it will be more on the C32!
. He's 16 BTW and he drives a BMW 328i. I'm 23 and jointly insured under the bimmer with my parents (1200 /yr) but I drive the C32 and it's insured solely under my parent's name (1000 /yr). That's probably the best setup to keep the insurance rates down for us. I think if I had your insurance I would be pissing in my pants. That's a lot of money
. It's strange how insurance companies come up with their prices. I would think the S500 and C32 rates would be similar.

oh yeah...forgot to mention that my insurance is actually put on the family minivan
and it's a family plan thing i guess. we all can drive which ever car we want in the family.eyuan23:
thanks for the support man. part of my Bimmer story is that i had the car for exactly ONE YEAR. the date i got the car is the date i crashed the car. That 328CI was love at first sight. when i saw the car in the 2000 3-series coupe catalog, i knew it was what i wanted. The drive, the dash board controls, and the build quality of the car was top notch. i wish i had never crashed it.
i thought my next car was going to be the M3, but something made me choose the C32 instead. i know it sound stupid, but the moment i saw the C32 i was in love again.

. I have a 4 yr lease on the C32. It's going to be a long time before the lease is up, but I'm pretty sure I want another BMW later. Hopefully an SMG of some sort
.

The bimmer is great however you look at it. Your replacement was a nice one IMO :p. It was kind of a bittersweet moment when I got the C32 cuz I knew I wouldn't drive the BMW as much anymore. I actually missed the BMW for awhile but the C32 soon helped me cope with the loss most definitely

hmm...maybe i should start learning to drive a stick shift
we bought the car. i guess that you must have thought that i have leased the car because i care about the mileage so much.

Mr. VANOS or Valvetronic is there any kind of ventilation available on this forum , because there is just too much hot air in here!!!

Frank, how old is your brother? My friend just bought an M5 and his first impression was not at all good; The car was toooo heavy. He wished he got an M3 instead. Either way, it's a nice choice though
BMW has to make the M3 rear wider because they want to car to be more stable that way. the M5 didn't need any of that widening the rear end stuff, except making the tires bigger.
maybe it's because your fiiend is use to driving a smaller car like the 3er or the C, which can be more nimble.

Perhaps one of you could switch it around a bit, perhaps "driver depressed, throttle very happy ! "
:p
