Questions on C55

I bought a used C55 so I was wondering what came with the car when purchased new. I'm talking about keys, manuals and anything else I would be missing. I got 2 master keys and that's it, missing manual I would guess and anything else, valet key maybe, I would like to know, thanks.

Pretty much just the manuals (i.e. a little leather binder that has individual binders). I sure you could easily obtain another one from the dealership.

bought my 2005 C55 used as well...

but looks like I got everything...?

First your "valet key" is the little silver L shaped deal on the end of your "key" ... the little silver ridged section is spring loaded, push it toward the middle of the fob & your "valet" key will be released. You can lock you glove box & take it w/ you.

I had a MBZ 1st Aid Kit (#Q 4 86 0026), a MBZ CD holder, Nav CD & manuals:
COMAND operators manual (Order#6515 6682 13/ PN 209 584 97 82)
C-Clas Opertaors manual (Order#6515 0135 13/PN 203 584 49 82)
Warranty book (Order# P-0417-05A)
Approved Service Products (Order#S-0473-05A)
plus some other pamphlets.

Also got a "screw-driver" w/ a rounded hexagonal tip ... what the hell is that for?

oh yeah ... some Brabus rims, springs & door sills.

That was it!

OK this looks like the info I needed. I guess I'm missing everything you mentioned except the 2 keys. Nav CD I don't need, no Nav for me. Thanks and this was great help into what I need.

Ok looks like I didn't look to good. Little leather case with all the manuals in the trunk, along with First Aide Kit. I guess I got everything thing then. Who would have thought the manual be in the trunk instead of the glove box and the fuse box is back there too. Man I'm thinking the engine should be back there too.

Oh another thing what is the deal with the spare tire, anyone have had to use it yet. It seems kind of flat to me.

The manual is heavy, therefore they put it in the trunk to help with the 50/50 weight distribution.

Congrats on your C55!

I have my manual stuck in the back too, in the left side wall of the trunk b/c I don't think it will fit in the glove box.

You're right...the tire in the trunk isn't inflated so if you ever get in a jam and decide to change a flat on your own, you should have a can of instant air to inflate the tire. I changed a flat back in June but didn't have to use the air can as I was at a gas station and it would have taken hours for Tele-Aid service to come out and take care of the flat. You should also have two white cotton gloves to keep your hands clean that MB included in my car!

The "screw driver" is a hex key which I believe is used to manually open the sun roof in case it ever gets stuck or doesn't open when you push the button.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
Nick

PS I'm thinking about selling my '05 C55 too. Do you mind sharing what you paid for yours so I have an idea on how to price mine? You can PM me if you like. Thanks!

Are you serious about the compressor as I haven't look enough to find one yet. Why can't you just air up the spare. This has got to be one of the dumbest things to start off with a spare flat when you just gotten a flat.

Hey mines an 05 with 25k miles on it and I paid 43k plus tax. I could have looked around for lower miles but I had a trade in too so I didn't care. Plus I drive the car like only 6k miles a year. My 01 IS300 had only 39k miles on here, just look at it that way so I'll still be under mileage for warranty but the years will catch up to me.

The portable air compressor actually comes in pretty handy for purposes other than inflating the spare. I think if I had a flat the spare would be useless to me anyway. I would just call AAA and have them tow me home. I was actually thinking about taking it out but from what I've been told the spare figures into the integrity of the car when you get rear ended.

Did you purchase an extended warranty for your car?

I usually don't keep cars longer than 3-4 years, kinda like my houses too.
