I'm not a recording engineer. So, go easy on me. The microphone was placed about 12" from the exhaust.
Recorded at idle and then revving to 4K RPM.
No secondary cats, no resonator.

Where should I go to get a res delete? There's not too many shops around where I live, would Midas do it?

Got mine done on Monday
And I didn't believe it at first, but this thing sounds brutal. The Low RPMs sound deeper and the exhaust note gives that little pop sound when the car is slowing down. Got it done in Manassas @ Hi-Flo exhaust, the owner has an E55 and told me he didn't notice a difference in his when he did it, I have to respectfully disagree.

Definitely recommend it if you want more sound from your C55.

I've always known about the res delete, but I was always a little hesitant to go through with it. Couple questions:

1. Does this mod void warranty?
2. Can anyone from LA/OC area recommend me to a good shop that will do this for me for a reasonable price?

1. No
2. I'm sure LA members will chime in

I just called a muffler shop to ask about secondary cats and the guy refused to remove it saying that is was illegal in California to do so and if they get caught its like a $25,000 fine. Any truths to this?

Well a Resonator is not a secondary cat, unless I'm mistaken, someone else with more knowledge chime in tho

Don't know about California and secondary cats but I took my car to remove primary cats to a shop in NJ and the guy refused claiming that he may have his "Certified Emission Repair Shop" license taken away.

Whats a c220 AMG?

And yes, that four cylinder, 110 hp beast sounds just like an 8 banger 350hp sedan cause of a removed resonator.

Yes. They had this thing called a "whistler". It is an audible thing that makes exhaust sounds. Its awesome. I heard the new M5 has one too.
