HRE 449's fitment and purchase issues.

I just bought a set of HRE 449's said to be only used for 500 miles on a show car. When i received them I noticed one of the rims came curb rashed. I also noticed that the rear rims wouldn't clear the rear caliper. They weren't shipped with spacers or bolts so I have no idea if they are supposed to fit without spacers. When purchased I was told they came off of a C class so they would fit a c32 but they don't.

Ive left the shop a message but probably won't hear back from them till monday. I want to repair them how much should I ask the shop to compensate?

Has anyone else heard of these rims having a fitment issue?

Rash is about six inches long and will need pieces of metal put in to fix it.

Are the AMG front calipers floating? I know a lot of cars have rear floating caliper so they move in close to the roter as the pad wares not just the piston moves. Because the front fitment is so close to the caliper it is about 1mm between the front calipers and the spokes a peace of paper barly fits between the spokes and calipers lol.

ugh spacers are ghetto and increase and or induce bump steer. Send them back and get the proper rims. OR if you got them for some smoking deal stick them on ebay-

How so? A number of manufacturers sell wheels WITH spacers that are application specific.

they do that because they don't want to make another production of rims with the proper offset. Changing from the factory offset which the suspension is designed for does created bumpsteer and handling problems-

Well it was a good deal on papar lol Like Brand New HRE 449 black polished Sales person said at most 500 miles on Pzeros lol. 3400 shiped. LoL not so good in reality like I said above. I figured im getting a deal since wheels cost like 1k each and tires are another K plus shipping mounting bla bla. I forgot to bookmark the HREs that I got but these are they guys I bought it from over the phone http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/20-HR...spagenameZWDVW Same wording use plus asked the sales guy all the info to make sure and asked if they fit a C32 he said yes. I told my credit card company that it will cost me like 600$ to get everything fixed on the rims and new lugs. I got only like 1MM in the front for brake clerance is that concerning????

and to make sure THE REAR c32 calipers are larger too not stock c class???

Not enough for the average Joe to notice. I don't know about you but most of us don't go around driving like Michael Schumacher to notice those type of problems.

Keep in mind I am NOT trying to argue with you. I, too, did not ever want to run spacers and had the same view on them as you. Unfortunately there was no choice if I was set on the wheels I wanted. They're not so bad after all.

For HRE's however there should be no excuse since they're "custom made" wheels.

Bumpsteer from a rear spacer? How is that going to happen without a tie rod and draglink?
