STILL losing power :(

Guys,

my car was badly losing power last week and so in it went to MB and under warrenty they replaced the Intercooler (after I asked for advice from you guys and then I advised the Tech) - all is well except I still dont feel that I have FULL power. I mean I KNOW my car and I KNOW that when I put my foot down it bloody went fast! But now I just feel like im in a C320

That feel you get when you floor it - pinned to the seat just isnt happening. Now ive taken it to MB again and they say 'it feels fast to me' - but thats prob cause they are not comparing how it was before like I am.

Do any of you top dudes have any idea what else could be a prob? Ive seen a couple of posts reg the MAP having a fault code or something. Could this be the problem behind my loss of power? ad what if I take it in and they say that the MAP has no fault codes? What do I do then? I just know SOMETHING must be up cause the car dont feel the same

Well any advice is welcomed so please feel free to give you 5 pence worth

Thanks in advance

So did they replace the intercooler pump? Can you here the pump running when you shut the car off and listen by the lower front bumper?

must admit that I havnt listened to hear it still running 10 sec after i turn off but bare in mind it was replaced under warrenty by a MB dealership so I cant see that they would lie.

Before I was egtting to like 60mph and the car wouldnt change gear and there was a serious loss of power - now it changes gear fine and feels faster - just not as fast as it was before - I dont get that 'pinned to teh seat' feeling I got before so im sure something is wrong.

Start with the throttle reset (search, it's all over the forums) just to see if it's 'you'. Then try some driving with manual gear selection and see if you still think it's *******. Then report back to this thread.

You said they replaced the intercooler not the pump! You may in fact have a leaking intercooler core. You might want to remove one of the surge tank lids and have a peek inside to see if there is coolant in the intakes.

So they replaced the intercooler under the blower, but NOT the intercooler pump?

Make sure the pump is working and fluid is pumping through the intercooler, since this is the most likely cause of power loss. The pump when operating should draw about 1.5A, which they can monitor on the MB Star system.
