CF overlay looks okay. CF weave is uneven on the left side of the front engine cover. Looks like they stretched it too much. And they could have wet sanded the resin in between clear coats with a flat wedge because it's not perfectly smooth. In comparison, the overlay on the airbox looks more even, just needs to be polished and waxed. The reflections off the front engine cover remind me of those mirrors at the carnival that distort people's faces.

There is a technique to wet lay up; the CF work done by Kleeman and AMG all have perfect weave uniformity. Who did the overlay job on the front engine cover?

Yeah I know the CF lay on the front cover isn't prefect, but I still think it looks good. Neal had his CF guy layer CF over the stock sliver cover. Neal said the reason it didn't come out perfect was because how the piece dipped and curved. He did say though that if he did a mold of the cover the CF would come out perfect however the cost would be too high just to make a one of.

If members here are interested in getting such a piece in CF I'm sure Neal could make a mold and it would be perfect and affordable since he would be producing them in quantity.

Do you know someone that could do a better job in your opinion for a reasonable price in producing a one of?

I'd have to agree with Neal about the overlay. It's not easy to lay CF evenly on a surface that has a lot of curves. Overlays are all one-off jobs and are not cheap. Like you and Neal said, only way to make it more affordable would be to make a mold and produce in quantity. I prefer 1x1 weave CF for small parts, and 2x2 for large parts like hoods and diffusers. Looks better IMO.

Here you go.

The box is larger then stock and therefore can hold more air volume, so it produces more power. The box though comes with stock AMG filters in it. I replaced them with BMC.

Yeah I got all that, plus a free flowing mid section exhaust and the Quaife LSD. I want to keep the car NA, so I might consider having renntech do heads and cams for the car. Wheels, brakes and suspension are next on this.

Here is a pic of the headers before they went in.

I'm a little confused what do you mean by 1x1 and 2x2 weaves?

Thanks for the pics. I am told the headers are a real mod power wise. It really stinks how expensive they are though. Did you put them on yourself?

Well, most places that offer Renntech don't discount or do so very little. If your intrested in some of there stuff you could check their website for dealers in your area or give Neal at Eurotech a call.
