Window Tint questions..
I got my windows tined by a local shop (35%) about a month ago and today I've noticed there was bunch of scratches on the film.
I took my car back to the shop but they would not cover it under warrenty. They told me that I need to take my car back to dealership and get my windows checked out...
I think they just used crappy film..
Have anybody else had problems with window tint??
So far I'm having a crappy weekend thanks to my car.. lol

My tint came with life time warrenty.. .However, they told me they won't cover vertical scratches..
They told me to get my windows re-tracked?? by the dealership....

That won't work. You need to get moleskin, or something like it, Which is a felt padding that goes in between the window seal and the glass to protect the tint. I did a tutorial on the installation, just search the W203 forum.

My car has that, which explains why the scratches have not gotten worse.

its your window sills causing the scratches, it WILL eventually get worst, I had an image of the scratched tints...but I cant seem to find it!
you will need moleskin! and replace your scratched tints!

Thank you all.. I should have the moleskin kit by next week...
and Imma try to convince my shop to do it for free... It suxs that all of my window has scratches.. bah..

Scratches in Tint
Had limo tint installed on my VW about a year ago and noticed same type vertical scratches before I had driven a couple of blocks. Took it back to installer-a very reputable shop-and was likewise told these were in the glass, not in film. Installer took time to show me how the scratches were in the glass, albeit very small. Like Newton22, I can only see it from the inside, fortunately it's only on 1 window and not enough that it bothers me. The scratches have not gotten worse nor have any appeared in the other windows.
Also have limo tint on my '04C32 and no scratches. Been on for 2 years.

I wish my tint shop told me that ahead of time...
oh well... I'm going darker this time.. 35% didn't look that great and it was easy to see the inside during daytime..
