AMG-Jerry - that's pretty cool! - so you can just send your ECU back to Renntech for revisions free of charge since you got the pulley and ECU from them? If so, that's who I'm going with.

Well, I'll share a little secret with you. I did not know this when I bought the Stage I package. The Pulley / ECU package includes a Stage I mapping. I will have to pay $995 for a custom ECU tuning, which includes free flashes until it's right. If I would have known this, I would have purchased the pulley first, then did a custom ECU flash instead of the package. Then again, I got the pulley and ECU for less than $1800, so I'm still coming out ahead.

If you are in Florida, anywhere near Renntech, then that might be your best bet because they can flash the ECU, Dyno the car, and reflash if needed. I will have to overnight my ECU and be without a car for 2-3 days. Another option is to just go with Evo Stage II because they also know what they are doing and you can get it all done in one try. I have more plans for my exhaust and I'm hoping that this ECU flash, along with racing cats, smooth transition Y-pipe(maybe x-pipe), custom tubing, and the Eisenmann exhaust will yield more HP than previously thought. Only time will tell though.

OK, had another Dyno appt. today. I got the same numbers as before, plus or minus 1-2 hp each run.

The ECU is currently on its way to Renntech for updating.

I have another Dyno appt. scheduled for Friday, so I'll let you know how that goes.

Spoke with Bob over at Renntech and they have the ECU. They are working with Germany on a custom program for the car. I mentioned that I would like some timing and A/F modification to help get back some of the lost power. I was also told that the pricing I got was because I had purchased the Stage I package from them, so keep this in mind if you are thinking about ECU mods.

Hopefully, if all goes well, I will get it back tomorrow, but it will most likely come in on Thursday.

Thank you Bob, for the excellent customer service and support.

Kleeman was the same deal. I currently have a Powerchip flash with evo's stage 2 software, and I wanted additional tuning after hitting the dyno. Powerchip is a bunch of choads and can't do that, so I was about to get a Kleeman custom tune. They wanted 995 for the tune with unlimited free tweaks later. If I were doing it again, I would have started out with a custom Kleeman (or Renntech) tune instead of getting the Powerchip software.

Thanks for the earlier advice on this matter, jgsx. I'm doing just that! My car is currently full Stage II but stock ECU. I may as well go the custom route now and have free tweaking ability later.

OK, had yet another Dyno appt today. This time, the numbers were better.

355 Torque
355 HP

So, I'm not going to send the ECU back unless it is needed after I finish the exhaust system. I will end up having a few more Dyno appt's to make sure things are going in the right direction.

I'm hoping to have the exhaust done within a week or two.

Stay tuned!

Great! I willl have to test drive that car to feel the difference one day. Maybe it will keep me in the small C class instead of CLS or E55.

Nope, but I asked for that this morning. I'm debating on sending the ECU back for another update. The owner of the performance shop said that I should have them give the car a little more gas, and timing. What do you think?

Currently, I have a higher torque numbers than the EVO Stage II setup, but I'm down 10 on HP. I'm afraid that if I make any more changes, I might lose that Torque. Didn't someone say that HP sells cars, but Torque wins races?

At any rate, I'm awaiting a response from Renntech, who in turn is waiting on my slow a$$ to send them the graphs for review. Hopefully, I'll get them those tonight and see what they have to say. I would hate to send them the ECU and get the numbers I'm looking for only to lose them when I add the exhaust mods on later this month. I think the numbers are good for now, considering I might even get a few more HP once the ECU adapts to the new settings. I only drove it like 35 miles after this was done but again, I'm happy for now.

I really think that the exhaust, new cats, new y-pipe, and new tubing should do the trick even though some will disagree. Guess we will see.

That is still an uncharted area. I played a little with the cats, but that was it. I'm glad you're doing the research on this, because if it goes well, I'm gonna copy you

OK, I got most of the exhaust system done and the car feels awesome!

The only piece missing is the Eisenmann, but I will put it on next week. I wanted to get a before and after dyno with the racing cats, 3" piping, and the better flowing Y-pipe.

My dyno is scheduled for next week, so I will post the results then.

I managed to take a few low-res videos while I was driving home today.

Please let me know what you think of the sound. Keep in mind that this is with no resonator, stock exhaust, and Random Tech. racing cats.

I think it sounds great!

Positive and negative feedback is welcome.

Here are the videos...

C32 AMG - in Pewter
Nice videos, Jerry. The last one is unreal - you definitely click the 62 mph for less than 5 sec, and get to 100 mph for between 10-11 sec.

Sound is nice but I do not think the quality of such videos can do a real justice.

Jerry,

You need to get a G-Tech Pro and measure your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. I GUARANTEE you that your 0-60 will be below 4.5 seconds and maybe 12.8 quarter mile....
