Yes, a 255 will fit in the back.

I am running 18x7.5 225/40/18 up front and 18x8.5 255/35/18.

I don't think you can go any wider in the rear without modifications.

You can also go to 235's up front but wouldn't go any wider..

Good luck!

My setup:
front: 19 x 8.5 - 245/35/19
rear: 19 x 9.5 - 265/30/19
I don't think you'd want to run 275 without rolling the fenders. Hope this helps.

So is it confirmed that 275's will rub in the rear without any fender rolling?

Would a 235/45/17 size fit the C32 stock 17" front double-spoke rims?

Probably OK. 7-1/2" wide rims should be limited to 225s, but you could probably get away with 235s.

Look at the minimum wheel width specs for the particular tire you plan on using but 7.5" wheels should be fine for all 235/45-17's. I have run Toyo T1S and Goodyear GS D3 in this size on the street with no problems. I run 245/45-17 Kumho Victoracers R compounds on the stock front wheels and, yes, this meets the minimum wheel width for these tires as well. You may rub some of the fenderwell plastic at full lock with 245/45-17's but nothing to worry about.

Can u put this size on an 18" wheel without modding the car at alll???? or will the car need mod's to make that size wheels fit the car.????

at the current time my C32 is running 225/40 R18 Front and 255/35 R18 rear.
so if u go to 235/40 R18 front and 265/35 R18 rear what mercedes wheel would fit that size. ???

you can run 235 on the front but if the rear is 8.5 then max tire size is 255.

you would need a 9-10in wide wheel for a 265

I just purchased some 19x9.5 and 19x8.5 rims and I was told by the guy at discount tire that it will rub if I put them on. Is this true?

I do have the Renntech springs, so the car is a little lower.

If you don't think it will rub, what tire size should I get?

Thanks,

Jerry - I still don't know exactly what tire size I have, but my 19x8.5 / 19x9.5s don't have any serious rubbing issues. My rears do rub for a split second if I go over a big bump, or if there are two people in the back seat, when I go over a medium bump

Wow, don't try to use PS2s when there is a blizzard out. My car is stuck outside my garage. Looks like I'm calling today a snow day. Time to throw on the stock 17s I guess

Thanks,
i dont know if you got the right offset.
if you did then you can do 235 and 265, rear might rub a little but not enough to worry you.

to be on the safe side you can run 235 and 255

I have messed around with different tires and rims a bit on my 911. I can say that I didn't like 225's on a 7.5 rim. 225's on a 8" are great. 235's on a 8" are sloppy and should be on a 8.5. 285's or 265's are fine on a 10" but 285's are sloppy on a 10 and should be on a 10.5. Although those larger sizes are probably inapplicable to C's they give an idea of picking the proper tire size to rim size is crucial!! You can have the best tires and rims but if they don't fit well together e.g. properly sized then the handling will suffer.

Widest front tires on C32

Well here's a sweet update I was waiting for and for all those looking to have a meatier front end grip/braking on their C32:
I went and test fitted a set Firehawk Indy 500 in 255/40/17 in the Front installed on the Rear wheels of my C32 (17x8.5 ET34). I put in the FRONT... and...drum roll.....They Fit with No rubbing and without touching anything on the inside, and they sit Flush on the outside. I will only need to have the fender rolled. That's it !!!
I turned lock to lock while going forward and backward and nothing rubbed!
I have stock suspension and plan on having a max of 2 people in the car so I should be fine.
So it's decided my setup is gonna be 255/40/17 in the front of my C32 and a choice of 255/40, 265/40 ( If I can find some) or even 275/40 in the back (i'll test fitting for the rear shortly).
Here are a few pictures!
