Brembo's Latest System - The beautiful 6 Piston - Available in 355mm, too
SubscribeIn addition to the new 405mm (Yes... 16 INCHES) braking system for select car (CLS, SL65, M5, M6), Brembo has released a new 6 piston monoblock caliper - which outperforms their old 8 piston caliper!
It has been available on the 380mm (15") For a little while... but now it's also available on the 355mm (14") kits, as well. We just added it to our website.
We'll be adding the 405mm systems shortly... in the meantime... enjoy:

Of course - the 355 6 Piston and 4 piston both fit... and we have even smaller kits for the car if you're on a budget.

Do you offer any kits for the rear wheels as well? Also, what are the different ways you can get the rotors?
For the rear of the car, I have a 328x28mm 4 Piston system.
I can get the rotors in cross drilled and slotted, and if you're patient, I MIGHT be able to score them with both on one rotor, but I make no guarantees. I suggest Cross-Drilled, since it's what all the OEM manufacturers (Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc) use, and it looks better!

Well, it's official. Brake rotors are now bigger than what I used to consider to be big wheels.
At some point, though, it's all show and no stop since you can only use so much braking.

Yes, depending on the inner clearance. What wheels do you have? worst comes to worst you run 5mm spacers.Originally Posted by 1FASTC32
will the 355mm kit fit under 18" wheels?

That's true, but tire manufacturers will be catching up so that you can utilize more of your braking power. tires are really the only thing that limits a car from stopping 50-0 in 5 feet.Originally Posted by Fifth Ring

slotted rotors outgass and are less prone to cracking. the drilled piece may cool a bit faster but that's it.Originally Posted by Jon@Jlevi SW

I was told by StatusAutoDesign that I can't get Slotted AND drilled on 1 rotor. Can you check that again? I'm placing my order today with them so I need to know ASAP.Originally Posted by Jon@Jlevi SW

Not to sound too cynical, but I'll bet 90% of the people who buy those rotors don't care about the out-gassing or cooling. They just need to look good!Originally Posted by AWDman

Most rotor mutilation is for show.
AWDman - You're right, around the track, slotted rotors outperform drilled for sure... but....
Fifth Ring is right... Our company is called Jlevi StreetWerks because 95% of our customers are Street drivers... for the 5% of our customers who really push it on the track, we suggest slotted.
AWDman - You can get both

How long do you think it might take to get the rotors that are slotted and drilled? And could you get them in 355mm and 328mm sizes? Also will these fit in the stock 18 inch C55 wheels?Originally Posted by Jon@Jlevi SW

Stumbled across some nice looking rotors for the C32/C55. I know nothing about them but they look hot.http://www.r1concepts.com/Items/bo%2...premium%20001?

the stoptechs i am running don't have a provision for the set screw either...they also don't have a place to mount the pad wear sensor
I'm checking availability of the cross-drilled and slotted rotors today.
355mm will fit under most 18" wheels. I will need to send you a template just to be very sure.
Thank you!

From our rep at Brembo North America:
Quote:
We do not slot and drill the same rotor anymore.
Two reasons:
#1, one takes away the advantage of the other. In other words, a slotted rotor is more aggressive on the brake pads where as a cross-drilled rotor is much easier on the pads.
#2, and probably the biggest reason is because of the inconsistency of the rotor temperature across the surface of the rotor. Again, in other words when testing rotors with slots and cross-drilling on the brake dyno the temperature was hotter where the slots were compared to where the cross-drilling was. For optimum braking, you want the same constant temperature all the way around the rotor.
Remember, guys: Brembo is always cutting edge and it’ll take a while for the competition to catch up to the results of Brembo's extensive testing! We do not slot and drill the same rotor anymore.
