The PERFECT analogy!

My analogy is my perspective.

I'm assuming Heather Locklear is going to be high-maintanence, but worth the work. Ellen, well, she'd obviously be of no use to any of us with *****, much like the Nissan.

Personally, I'll keep my C32 and my *****.

$19,900 from the dealership. It had 78,300 miles on the clock. Edmunds trade-in value was $17,500. I could have gotten more for it if I had gone private-party, but I couldn't, in good conscience, sell this car to anyone. Now it's the dealerships headache.

So you're saying you don't feel like a man w/o your $50k car? A friend of mine with an M3 feels the same way. It's funny, whenever it's in the shop, he refuses to leave the house, for fear that someone will see him *not* driving a BMW. He's still young, though.

Actually, I spent $27,000, not $50k, but no, I don't feel less of a man without my C32. I choose to remain in the high-permormance world, knowing the risks of owning this car without a warranty. That, my friend, takes *****.

Funny thing, even though my work requires a degree of civility in choice of automobile, I've been having a good time, recently, driving my son's soon-to-be 1989 Ford Bronco around. Nah, I'm not afraid to be seen in something other than my C32. Heck, my wife's car (which I need to drive occasionally) is a mini van. No fear here.

I'm still glad to get out and enjoy the C32 though.

All I guess I'm saying is...To each, his own.

*nod of agreement*

I do wish the C32 had worked out for me. It was the 2nd fastest car I've ever owned, and an absolute panty-dropper. I got laid on accident a couple times because of it.

the best FWD family car is the 07 Camry SE V6.. far and away.

You can get a new one for about $25k MSRP

6sp auto
reliable
smooth
quickest
3.5L
best interior

better than the, Accord, Maxima, Altima, Mazda 6 (not MasdaSpeed) and Passat, Ford 500

after owning an 03 G35 and 04 NIssan Armada, I would NOT go back to Nissan unless they were giving the GT-R at a discount price.

If i'm going to downgrade my C32 it will only be for the Camry at this point.

I saw an 07 Camry SE V6 w/ 5k miles for $21k (Autotrader) It had the Navi, leather seats and all the electronic gadgets. The only reason I didn't buy it, is that I still have my POS C32 which is still not working properly. I will end up giving it to the dealer.

You really can't go wrong with the Camry. I've had one of those as well... great car all around. The reason I got the Altima instead is because they were offering them at 700 under invoice, and I think it's a slightly better-looking car than the Camry (plus I've never had an Altima before). I think the Altima got higher ratings from the critics as well, but either way, it's a toss-up.

I think you're making the right choice by not selling your C32 to a private party. You don't want that karma coming back to haunt you. I really wish I hadn't gotten one of the lemons.

I'll give you the Accord, Maxima, and Ford 500. Gotta be biased towards the Altima , and I'll say I don't know enough about the Passat or Mazda 6 to make an informed decision.

You should stick some AMG badges on your Altima.

I can understand you want to tep down a bit for the sake of reliability. Why not get a 325i, IS250 or a G35?
There is no way around it, regardless of the trim. An Altima is a econobox and world apart from any of the luxury brands.

That is a little crazy. I drove an 07 Altima before I bought my C32. There is no comparison. I also drove a C230 and it even felt better than the Altima. The Altima was a nice can but it wasn't a Merc!!! Not to mention a C32. I am very happy with my choice. I just hope you are still happy with your choice in a few months. I'm sure you will miss your C32!!!

I'm pretty happy with it. I do miss the sport seats and the torque of the C32. I don't miss the 1500 jerk, 17 mpg, broken seals (again), bad bushings (again), remote entry not working, HVAC out, glycol contamination, tranny falling apart, etc...

I'm driving an '07 Maxima right now as a loaner while my car is still in the shop. Not sure how much different the maxima and altima are, but the maxima is pretty sweet! Nice sport suede seats, pano roof, keyless start, very peppy FWD drive. Better than the AMG, no way. Still a nice car though.

This forum has been great, but I probably won't be around much in the coming years. When MB starts taking their QC seriously, I'll start devoting dollars to Deutschland. Until then, thanks for all the good info, and happy driving!!
