BTW - the graph that we will use for measuring is the attached one. It only seems fair to use the middle numbers.

AMG-Jerry's C32 Dyno Guess

If we're using this graph, I'm guessing your next dyno should around 383 whp.
I can't wait to see the results...

I just did a few pulls on a dyno dynamics dyno and my A/F ratio is 10.5 through the powerband.

Hopefully, I can get this worked out before I dyno next week at the normal spot.

I am a bit conservative by nature. I am going to guess 15 - 18 peak HP gain.

Glad to hear the car is running like a monster now.

What is the status of the Schrick cams? Have they been sent out? Do you have an ETA on when Schrick will get back to you?

Thanks

I sent the Cams back to Schrick yesterday and they should have them Tuesday afternoon. I'm guessing it will take 3 weeks to get replacements.

Jerry keep up the good work. I am looking forward to seeing you hit 400+hp at the wheels.

Ok, good news. I just picked up my car. The car runs fine with the Schrick cams.

My old headers are damaged and I'm waiting on a new set. Jerry let me borrow his stock exhaust manifolds (thanks!) so I was able to get my car back on the road in the mean time. I almost forgot what the car looks like.

The car feels a little slower than it did previously. This is obviously since I do not have the evo headers on the car. I can't really tell what the cams did yet.

Hopefully I'll have a better update next week.

Yeah, me too. I hope no more tuning will be required.

Does the car idle fine?

Good luck!!

Ok, the car is idling a little rough. I'm not sure if it is misfiring or if it is just because of the cam profile. I hope that raising the idle by 60rpm will fix it.

I threw a CE light last night. I don't have a scanner here, so I'm not sure what it is. It's probably misfire.

When you rev it up and let off the gas, does it feel like it wants to die? I did that three times in a row and the car said f--- it and died.

You should run to autozone and pick up a code reader my friend. If it is mis-firing, lets hope it's not cylinder 1.

I think your issue might be timing / tuning related....which is good. It means that the car will run like a champ and make more power after the reflash.

Keep me posted....if you are in the area, let me know and I'll meet up with you.

The car does not ever feel like it is going to die. I mean the car really just feels like it has agressive cams in it. It's not too crazy, but it isn't like a Benz.

I hope that raising the idle by 60 rpm is enough to smooth it out. I'll do this next time I see Dr Sunil.

I ordered a OBDII scanner. I'll get it on Tuesday. I wonder what the code is.

I reset the CE light the old fashioned way (disconnected the battery). The car actually runs pretty smooth now. I can still feel that there are cams, but it isn't as bad. Now I'm really wondering what the CE light was for. I figured it would come back, but I have driven about 75 miles since I reset it and so far so good.

The car is idling pretty rough again. The CE light is back. My OBD scanner is supposed to get here tomorrow.

At least this just looks like a software tuning issue. If the car was able to idle smoothly at some point, the cams are fine.

Agreed...keep in mind that Jeff at Renntech did say that these cams were drastically different from the original (N/A) Schrick cams and the AMG cams.

Have you started considering your tuning options?

I'm going to start out with a higher idle with my current tune. If that does the trick I'll drive for a few days and hit the dyno and see where I'm at. I'll reevaluate at that point.

If it turns out that I require some tuning, or if it looks like I can squeeze out some more power, I'll go with Renntech or Kleeman.

Iron out your ECU tune, then I'll buy a copy of it from Renn.

Will do!

Wifey and I were going to the store earlier and she smoked a Cobra!! The last car she raced was in my M3 and that was against an S2000 on the way to work one morning. She had a huge grin on her face.

Sorry about that. I am really curious to see how you do. I would rather have trap speed at the end of the 1/4 because its a better indicator of HP than a dyno. My vette 400rwhp auto traps between 116-119 in the 1/4 and weighs 3500 lbs with me drivining.

Got the scanner today. There were three codes

P0172 Generic - SYstem Too Rich (Bank 1)
P0175 Generic - System Too Rich (Bank 2)
P0460 Generic - Fuel Level Sensor A Circuit Malfunction

Now remember, I just installed the cams and removed the headers. The ECU tune is for evosport stage 2 w/ headers.

so when are the evosport headers supposed to come in?

Not sure, it is beyond evo's or my control at this point. I'm just hoping to get them soon.

So I'm guessing that the car is running too rich since it can't flow enough air through the stock manifolds?

What's strange is that the CE light comes on when the car is at a complete stop. I cleared the code twice over the last few days. It comes back after like 50 miles when I'm at a stop light.

are they giving you a new set of headers?

i am wondering if raising the rpm's will fix this problem?

when are you going to be able to try to raise the rpm's?

Yup, they're replacing them.

I'm planning on visiting Dr Sunil in several weeks. He can raise my idle speed by 60 rpm. I'm taking the vehicle in for scheduled maintenance next week, but I'm a little hesitant to ask them to do that.

I'm hoping to put new headers on the car this week. The car just doesn't have the punch that it used to.

If they don't know your car is modded then don't ask them and don't get them involved at all because they may give you trouble later...
