did PE say anything about their initial thoughts on the heads the way they came from the factory? just curious...

i know, i think i may have the supercharger and intake runners done at the same time...

i think that the cams will make a pretty big difference as well as the valve job that PE is doing on Jerry's heads...

I think the exhaust side could use some work. The intake side looks a little narrow, but not by much. I think the valve job will help.

Erick - Clear out your PMs.

Well that seals the deal I think. I'll throw just the cams in and see what happens.

I have the heads here at the house, so if there is anything specific anyone wants to see, they need to let me know now. I will drop the heads off @ MB at 7:00 AM tomorrow and the car will be ready a little after lunch time.

I have taken tons of pictures, and they are both high and medium resolution.

For the high res pics, please download them from http://www.neo-velocity.com/portedheads.zip

For the medium res pics, please visit the gallery at http://www.neo-velocity.com/portedheads/

I have to say that I'm impressed with the work that PE did. Randy continues to amaze me with his experience. I've asked him to join the forum and make some posts and answer questions, so hopefully he will.

I asked them to not polish the heads to a mirror finish because of time and the fact that it really doesn't do much.

I wish you could see them in person, they look perfect. Most of the curves and bends have been removed and smoothed out. It's hard to see with the camera, but hopefully there are a few pics there that show the quality.

Wow, those ports look huge and open. They should flow well at high lift. I am not sure how well they will perform for low volumes of air. I would need to look at those pictures side by side with the original (before) photos.

I think having the valves in place, makes the ports look larger.

It will be interesting to see, what kind of low end torque you have with the new heads and cam.

I would guess that your peak boost pressure will go down a fair amount, due to lack of back pressure.

Just FYI...there is a dyno day at P&L in Franklin Park, IL on Sat. 4/14/07 from 9am-9pm (1st come, 1st serve basis) for $60 three pulls w/ wideband print out. Here is the link: http://www.euroteknik.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26504

I plan on attending just ot see what my stock 02 C32 does, but wouldnt mind seeing your car there at all. I skimmed thru the thread but how much does it cost for the head work you did (w/ MB labor included)?

this is what REV told me as well. if the heads start flowing more- does the effort required to spin the supercharger then decrease??? one of the reasons (if not the reason) we can't go higher than stage 1 boost is that the supercharger clutch starts slipping. if the "backpressure" in the heads is less then maybe the effort required to spin the supercharger is less????.........

this has huge ramifications if so...........basically a ported head can then run even higher boost. 1, 2 psi who knows? maybe a fully opimised cammed ported motor is + 70hp????

what would be interesting would be if someone plumbed in a boost gauge to see the boost levels in 3rd, 4th gears.

this is getting interesting!

trust me, i have been thinking about this for a while...and i am already working on a solution for this, it is top secret...

the only problem we may run into, is that the clutch slipping may not have anything to do with boost pressure and more to do with the RPM that the blower is spinning...if this is the case, it will suck for all of us

play by play action-

8am- at this point Jerry is freaking out with excitement!

9am- he is finding it extremely difficult to focus at work...

10am- he now realizes he has not done any work...

11am- calls mercedes to get an update so that he doesn't have a nervous breakdown

11:30am- takes an earlier lunch to go check on the car...

1pm- still waiting at the dealership for them to get done, doesn't want to go back to work...

2pm- driving the car

Since Jerry is computer Guru I vote for:
1. get wireless internet, hook up web cam
2. do not work today
3. Jerry stand over techs shoulder and live broadcast whatever he is doing
4. we all get fired for not getting any work done
5. we will have more time to drull over Jerrys car
