There's no way in hell you can get a CLK550 for $80 more than a 335, the price difference is $10K. Think about it, it doesn't make sense. In fact, I think MBUSA.com has a special lease price on the CLK350 for $499 per month and BMWUSA.com offers the 335 for $509 per month. Therefore, a CLK550 would be minimum $699+.
I mean, if that were true - not only would people not buy the BMW 335 (cause heck, I'd get the CLK550 over it), but people wouldn't buy the CLK350!

All I know is that I went in to look at a c55 and my sales guy said, wait, you have to check out the CLK550 the lease rates are amazing.. I test drove it and we ran the numbers. Almost loaded CLK550 and the lease was 680 with 5k down.. I really need 4 doors so I walked on the deal.. but it is what it is.. The lease on a 06 C55 was like 800 for almost the same base price. The CLK550 has the lowest money factor of all MB's except the R class.. FWIW
I just always come back to the fact that there isn't anything out there that looks as good as our C32/C55 IMHO. The new BMWs are hideous to me. The w203 is just about the most bold and best looking thing out there at the moment. It's about as reliable as Yugo, but it looks great and is very comfortable to ride in.
The best thing I can say about W203 styling is that it is mature and innocuous. With nice wheels, aftermarket grill and maybe a lower stance, it is worth looking at. I bought the C32 because of the drivetrain and brakes, but I lament the fact that there are about a billion look-alike W203s out there driven by people who literally have no idea whether their car has a 4 or 6 cylinder engine, disk or drum brakes.
The 335 is a great car, and the Bangle influence is subdued. I would not hesitate to say that it's more attractive than the C32. I have problems, however, with the BMW "image." I like stealth, which is why I like the C32 and I like Audis.
