Blast your lack of telepathic abilities!!!

I JUST ordered a new set of these 2 farking days ago!!!!! *fume*

So just to get the full effect, why are you getting rid of them? Was that you who switched to the Renntechs after getting some rubbing in the back with a full load?

What is the difference in feel and drop?

Yeah I switched to Renntechs. I would rub with 3 people in the back with my 19" wheels. When I put the Renntech springs in, the installer noticed that it was just rubbing on some plastic clips under there. He trimmed those. That would have solved the issue, but I had already purchased the Renntechs.

I haven't driving the car with the Renntech springs so I can't tell you about the difference yet.

good to hear you fixed the prob but my advice may have been too late???

i would be very curious to hear your impressions renntech vs H&R. you may the only person who would have had both on your car

i really like the control of the renntechs.

side note re rear springs- you can get 3 or 4 different levels of spring pads to shim out to the height you want.

Thanks for the advice AWD. I told my mechanic what you told me and he immediately knew what I was talking about. If I had trimmed those things earlier, I would have resolved the rubbing issue.

I am picking up the car in a couple hours (Kleeman ECU!!!). Hopefully I'll have a feel for the Renntechs by the end of the weekend.

Any feedback yet on the Renntechs? I just called them and was told they are out of stock and lead time from Germany is a few months, which is a disappointment.

The drop is significant BUT YOU MUST GET BENZ #4 rear spring shims or else the rear of the car will be too low. Even with the tallest shims, the rear is still ever so slightly lower than the front (measured by fenderwell gap).

H&R Sport Springs are nice. Significantly firmer than stock, but not too rough at all. I'm happy with mine for appearances and handling.

Yup, the Renntechs are already in. I thought there would be a bigger difference in ride height. The rears came up maybe .25".

Do you want the H&Rs? We could meet up.

what i've found is the car will have a nose down stance with an even fender gap front and rear. i think the w203 was styled to have less of a gap in rear. the diff in gaps is less noticeable with stock 17".

Yup, with 17s it looks fine since there is so much tire. With 19s, very small sidewalls, and a small fender gap the difference starts be become very noticeable.
