1) pull out the Bose Mic.

2) turn the navigation off.

3) purchase a European Comand

4) antenna on roof is Sirius

The hockey puck on the roof is for Sirius SDARS. The puppy dog tail is for the telephone and teleaid communication services. These products are optional. All cars have the puppy dog tail. The AM/FM radio antenna is the heating grid imbedded in the rear window. (BMW's come with heated rear window standard, to keep the owner's hands warm while pushing it in the winter time.)

There is also a GPS antenna which can be under the glass next to the puppy dog tail, in the hockey puck, or taped to the inside the dash pad above the instrument cluster. Depends on where the COMAND was installed.

regarding the nav voices you can't change them.

With the nav speaking you can hit repeat and then mute. If you hit repeat and toggle the volume that will change the level of the nav volume
If you hit repeat and put it all the way down when it gives you an instuction - it will lower the radio without saying anything and drive you crazy- so hit repeat and mute

BTW the radio antennae is in the front windshield - that's why it says it on the glass-

The tail is the tele and teleaid **** and maybe the gps I dunno.

The correct answer to Question No. 4 is "Teleaid". My car ironically did not come with that option. It was a custom ordered car, and for some reason the dealership did not include it; unfortunately, it cannot be dealer installed because there is a lot of wiring to be included.

So the antenna on the roof IS NOT FOR SIRIUS satellite radio, MOST W203's have this, C230's, C240's, C320's, C350's, C32's, C55's - without Sirius radio installed. So if you do not have this, you will notice you do not have TeleAid. The Sirius "antenna" is more like a little black-box, you'll find the same thing at Best Buy, it's not a 'Mercedes' made product.

That's the only question I can comfortably answer and know is correct.

Correct! When I enter tunnels, as soon as the nose of the car enters it gets static-ky, because the antenna is blocked for a second. This never happens for FM stations but mainly for AM stations.

I think he was asking about the square nubby antenna, not the one that is a stick. The square one is for satellite.
