2002 C32 AMG 133k Miles Anyone beat that ??
Hey Guys,
I have owned my C32 AMG now for 2 yrs, its upto 133k Miles now, I was just wondering does anyone else come close to this mileage, or have more mileage on there car's (C32/C55 only though please) ??
Be interested to know, as i have been told high mileage AMG's are quite rare, am I setting a new current record for a C32 @ 133k Miles.
I have just bought a new 2007 S320 CDI in march (8000 miles already), to stop me putting anymore mileage on C32, as I am getting quite attatched to her now and I dont want it to die on me !!
Let me now, model, year and mileage !! Anyone beat it !?!?!?!?

Mercedes FSH (main Dealer)
Power Steering Pump
Front Disc's + Pads
Rear Pads
Breather Pipe's
Air relay sensors
Seat control modules x2 replaced
2 x New Battery (the 1st replacement wasnt Mercedes Hence re-replaced)
Intercooler Pump
Alternator
8 x Tyres
2 x Indicator Bulb holders/housings (which fit into front headlights)
Fuel Relay (product recall)
Supercharger Pulley
Wing mirror indicator (broke from a mirror to mirror collision)
Near side arch liner (became loose and required replacement)
New 2006 Sat Nav Disc (Update lastest maps etc)
Boot lid, 2x front wings including arches, 2x rear arches all resprayed under mercedes warranty (due to rust appearing)
Finally I fitted 19Inch AMG Split Rims, just because it looks better, but in 2 years that quite a list !!

Hey,
Glycol contamination ?!? Are you refering to the radiator/gearbox leakage issue's ??
If so, i have noticed occasional erratic/rough low rev gear changes, but it is only occasional, and i feel this is just te mercedes auto boxes, as my 2007 S320 CDI is also prone to this very occasionally.
Please explain what symptons i should look out for whilst driving, are the erractic/rough gearchanges really harsh or not??
Is it an easy check?? Or is it going to be another mercedes visit ?? What happens if it is left ??
Advice would be great. Thanks, oh and you forgot your mileage !!! lol.

C32 AMG
You would have to get it tested at a facility for the glycol levels... You are right though, most mercs have the shift bump.
Do you know what raidator you are running, that could be a tell tale sign of wether you have contamination or not.

If your radiator has a "Valeo" decal on it then it "might" be prone to this problem. I am certain not all C32s have this problem - even the ones with Valeo radiators. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. I have a 2002 C32 and have not had this problem. My transmission occasionally shifts abruptly at lower rpms. It was like this since I purchased it and really does not bother me....

Hi, I have heard the Valeo rads are the one's to go, if they do go that is, i dont believe they all have this problem. My alternator is Valeo, as this was just replaced 2 days ago, so I assume the radiator must be too.
But if your C32 has abrupt change as well then and your's has no leak then i may be ok.
The only reason i mentioned the abrupt gear changes on low rpm was because someone told me this was a tell tale sign of the problem, although mine is very occasional, not all the time. perhaps once a month !?!?
But then again, this car has been into mercedes 6 times in the last 3 months, so if i had this problem, I would have hoped it would have been picked up.
Although i have 133k miles, this car is concour's, and anything requiring attention is always taken care of irrespective of cost, i do not let anyone near it other than MB main dealer's.
I ahve just cleaned my drilled holes in my front disc's, help's with brake judder and faster braking times, i managed that myself lol.

Nope, just the basics (ic pump, sc bearing, bushings, etc). I just fix them as they appear. Overall, its been pretty trouble free.

I have only 92K on mine, but I put over 33,000 miles on it in one year! It has been an great car with no issues. I have just done every service on time and preventative maintainance. An absolute joy. I do wish they offered them in manual though.
OH, I even tracked it a couple of times...

True, I think a manual would be nice, as the tiptronic is a little slow on gear changes.

I've had my 2002 for almost 2 years, now has 105k miles. Runs perfect, haven't had any problems in a while. Many things were already fixed under warranty before I got the car.
and I fixed a few issues. Overall the most fun/powerful car I have owned..
