Reviews of 335, G37 and C350 -- C32/C55 looks better every day.
The 335 and G37 do not have much, if any, advantage over our aging C32/C55s, particularly if you do a bit of upgrade to suspension and wheel/tires. Power, handling, brakes, amenities, cache.
I guess that's the benefit of buying a car that was on the outer edge of the envelope in performance. It's an added benefit that you buy it used and pay no more than your neighbor pays for a new Accord!
I enjoy my car more every day. It's a beautifully engineered piece of hardware.
Been considering the GS450H, lately, but it is a little big and heavy and not as fast as my stage2 C32. Gas mileage would appear to be a fair amount better, though.
A turbocharged Bluetech in a C four door body, might be nice, it it was CA legal.

The 335i truly is a remarkable performance machine for the money. It has brought the performance previously associated with the expensive E46 M3, W203 C32/55, B6/B7 S4 down into the entry 3 series level. MB and Audi have no answer for this (yet).
and 5 years ago the 3 series were in the mid 30's.
now you can't buy a midly loaded 335 sedan or coupe for under $40k.
and well equipment WITHOUT navi coupes are mid 40's and can reach $50 with all options.
I the only thing I can tell you is that the 3 series are way more expensive than now compared to the C32 and C55.
My car was actually built in 2001, so its almost 6 years ago since it was produced and its still can compete with cars with double the price tags.

all the new toys are fun too.. bluetooth, ipod kit, idrive.. which i think is pretty cool..
but.. for the price.. I know you can't be a c32 for performance, looks, etc, etc..
335 is definitely a bargain for performance standard now/2007, but if you look back when E46 first came out my 2000 328Ci fully loaded was $44k which I and probably most people thought paying $44k for a 3-series was outrageous, but now if you look at a fully loaded 335i coupe it's at a whopping $52-53k fully loaded.
The new M3 and the new C63 will likely top $70k. It's just how the ever growing car price works.
next stop will be 5-series, A6 or the E-class.

I also get a kick out of how some of the new sedans (e.g., BMW 335, IS 350) & their owners are bragging about hitting the 300-hp "barrier."
WTF? Ummm, that threshold was blown away 5 years ago.
If our cars were totalled today, still not many stronger options. I personally would just get a used C55.
