Might buy high mileage C32...????
I'm looking at trading in my Trailblazer SS for a high mileage c32. It would drop my car payment some and I like the looks of these cars a lot.
What problems do older ('02) C32 might have. I will be my DD so not going to mod it much...from what I see the interior is in really good shape.
Thanks for your help

i would also want to see the service records on the vehicle, it will tell you alot about how it was maintained and also what kind of problems/updates the car has had along the way...any dealer can print this out for you with the VIN number...

Gosh, I'm a punk. I need to drive mine more. only 49000 on my 02. No mods. Just to church, shopping, and to the library with my girls. Always serviced at MB-Manhattan. Your vehicles are beautiful and the mod's are fantastic.

That's for the info. Is the car in your sig the one you sold? If so what wheels and other mods did you have? I am looking at some starting mods.

I bought a high mileage C32 because of its history and condition. Plus the price was unbeatable. Its been awesome. Doing my own work, and having a wholesale parts connection, have allowed me to keep my costs down significantly.

Yes, the car in my sig is the one I sold. The wheels are 18" SLK55 AMG wheels. The car is also lowered on a Brabus suspension(springs and shocks). I also installed a C55 dual exhaust.

1. Get a warranty, any warranty. Fixing a C32 will cost a ton more than fixing your Trailblazer!
2. Rather than change the Valeo radiator, maybe drain a few ounces of transmission fluid and invest $25 in getting it analyzed for glycol contamination. If there's no glycol after 100K miles, then the radiator is fine.

Mine was in AZ, so it's probably not the same car, but I'll check my docs when I get home just to be on the safe side.

Warranty
If you have the opportunity to buy an extended warranty, do it. As nice as these cars are a simple search of this forum will return many threads having to do with service issues. When I got my 02 C32 last year, I got a 2-yr Star Warranty through the MB dealer. In hindsight, it was the best couple grand I ever spent. The car has been in to the dealer a few times to fix some suspension and steering issues that required extensive repairs. These repairs would have cost me a lot more than what I paid for the warranty. Or, just get a 1 yr warranty and pay close attention to anything that might be wrong and get all the work done ASAP. On the other hand, if you pick the car up cheap from a private party, then make sure you put away some $$ in the event you do find some issues.
Do not interpret this post negatively. I absolutely LOVE my C32 and plan on keeping it for a long time. Having had a number of foreign luxury cars before (Audi and 2 BMWs) I am all too familiar with the hidden cost of maintenance and repairs.

Also, when my 2yr CSO runs out I will absolutely buy an extension. Although I don't know exactly how much the repairs cost since they're all covered by CSO, I would venture to guess that MBUSA did not make any money off me with their warranty. I don't care how small the problem is. I don't hesitate to take the C32 in for repairs.

Slater126, my c32 had a very similar clicking sound from behind the dash whenever I started the car. The dealer fixed it and I'll have to look up my service record to see what it was. From what I remember, it had something to do with the climate control system. I'll try to find the info and post it back here.
It is gearing on one of motors that controls flaps for air distribution.
$15 part to be replaced and $900 dollars bill for labor.
definitely get it fixed under warranty.
regards
Jack

Thanks guys. It's flippin' annoying but at least I know the car's not going to blow up. I can't take it to the dealer until next week. I've probably run up about $3k in repair bills so far. God bless the warranty! If there was any doubt before, I'm extending this next year.
