M3 Vs C32

motortrend has specs for alot of cars in the back and im bored so im gonna show the forum what motortrend says

BMW M3 w/ SMG

0-60 - 5.3
1/4 mile - 13.8
Slalom - 67.7 mph
Breaking - 113 ft
(I thought i would put up more than 0-60 and 1/4 mile like most people)

C32 AMG

0-60 - 5.0
1/4 mile - 13.5
Slalom - 66.2
Breaking - 118

well this should give you all a good idea of the two cars performance... now I can show all my friends who never believe me when I say the C32 is faster

I don't think those problems are enough to deter you from one side to another, we MB guys tend to exaggerate. It is however, always going to be in the back of your mind if you get the M3.

BUT DUDE! Why would you lean one way or another comparing tenths of a second in accleration. I'm sorry, but that is ridiculous. If that is the case, it's your ego talking. For what it's worth, SMG cars cannot be launched off the line as aggressively, thus the reason for slower times IMO.

I guess some people never get enough, but I will not be getting any power upgrades for a long time. 350hp at the crank is enough for me (for now!). I do however want some suspension mods. Vadim, when are you free man?! I'm sitting here in Irvine and might want to see your car.

To some people 1/10's of a second do matter. I think the m3 is better looking then the c32, but I choose the c32 for the reason that it is faster and has potential locked away. If I have a car for a whlie, I will get bored with the performance. With the c32, after 350hp is not as exhilarating as it once was, I can go get a chip + pulley. With an m3, there is not much one can do. For me, that was a deciding factor. Performance is top priority for me.

i agree.

btw M3 (all 3-series) does not come with alarm. they only have the remote door lock. It's all about personal taste. If i had to pick between M3 and C32 again, i might have gone with the M3 (since, now the SMG is available. when i had ordered the c32, the SMG was not available yet for the M3)

Why don't you ask mommy and daddy to buy you an M3 in addition to your C32.

M3 looks/is much sportier.....C32 is what to get if you WANT or NEED 4 doors.

But the C32 could easily match the M3 with a very few suspension mods and 18" wheels...funny even the new 745i is available with 19" OEM.

then again if I got a 2 door car - I'd buy a Corvette and CRUSH the M3....

to each his own !

if you are really bored, go drive around town in the 32. don't come around and pick on people.

SMG M3's are faster 0-60 that stick ones. This is official BMW info. its like 0.2 sec difference. Im not sure about numbers, but if you are interested try some official BMW sites.

this m3 vs. c32 subject is played out. If you want more sport, go m3. If you want more luxury and exclusiveness, go C32. What else is there to say??

I dunno if this matters, or should be considered. But I have an M3... love it, its great, and so is the C32..... to me there is no difference....... but sometimes, i wish i got the C32, not because i need a four door car, not because they are more exclusive, but because of the service you get at an MB dealership. Sometimes i just want to rip out my hair cause of the crappy service i get at BMW. I used to have an SLK, and that car had its problems, but the service was just great, little problems, or big ones, they got it done, and quick. With BMW, its almost like, you need inside relations to get the proper help. Sure not all dealerships are like this, but im sure if you ask 10 which service is better, 9 of 10 would pick MB, and i would be one of them...

Well, I'm sure you must be satisfied with the driving experience of the BMW?!?

Have you been having significant problems with the M3, and thus the reason for your frustration? I haven't really had a chance to use MB's service, no problems to date, but I did make an unscheduled oil change.

i'm in reverse about what you said. except the service part stands that MB being better. I am a die hard BMW fan, sometimes i wonder how did i came to the conclusion to get the C32. Don't get me wrong, i am very happy with my car. it's just sometimes that i imagine what if i had gotten the M3 instead.

LOL!!!! Please correct me if i missunderstood that but do you really think that you can beat the m3 with a corvette??? Good joke!
The corvette is a fast car - thats right. But If you race with a corvette against the M3 you will lose the reace after passing the first curve (or bend - whats the right word?). You have definitively no chance against the M3 in the curves.
Thats the only big advantage of BMW.

No. BMW Germany says that the automatic transmission SMG makes the M3 slower then the manual one.

Everythin you said is right! And don´t forget to mention that the qualily made by BMW (all cars) is not as good as the Mercedes one. And I want to adjoin that BMW has more problems with the engine (higher rpm means the engine will **** up faster!) and if you want to re-sale your car the fall in value is on mercedes cars not that high. (very bad english, i kno))

What are you talking about dude? The Vette will kill a M3. Since you are talking about the BMW tuned M3, compare it to the CHEVY tuned Z06. Plus for $500 you can get the Z06 pushing another 40hp. The Z06 will run 12's stock. To my knowledge I havent seen a stock E46 M3 (manny or SMG) running 12's.
